Sure, I'm a dick, but the guy bemoaning the lack of a downvote button while calling my post "garbage" when all I'm doing is bitching about huffpo is straight-talk, right? How about you join him?

I honestly don't think that it will ever get big enough for billionaires to even take notice. Even if we get 10% of the total social media traffic, which is a massive number in and of itself, the sharks are going to be fighting over much larger stakes.

If the fediverse does somehow manage to get large enough to attract the attention of the pigs that run the farm, I suspect they'll just clone the (open-source) code, make their own instance running on another protocol, and throw their weight around to get everyone moved over there.

Relying on the judiciary or the legislature is a bad gamble.

Although Father Walter Fernandes repeatedly refused to identify who he meant by “people in power”

Of course. It's impossible to be wrong if you refuse to be specific.

Aww... what happened to his legs?

Edit: Clearly @Hellsadvocate appreciates crippled kittens.

Hmm... would need to see more reports on this. If HuffPo reported that water was wet, I'd check, just to make sure.

Wait until people realize how much of our water infrastructure is built with lead piping.

NBCUniversal said that the move was annual landscaping

Which is why the city is moving forward with an investigation and possible fines. "First annual," I guess?

Edit: Clearly @Hellsadvocate appreciates making things difficult for unions.
