Exoskeletons like Ripley's in Alien. We've got smaller ones, but I want to pilot a walking fork lift.

Pipe dream - battlemechs aka mechwarrior (not pacific rim). Very impractical but I want one anyway. Yes, I saw the robot fighting league by Megabots. I have their poster.

Seriously, wtf is wrong with NX. I'd never heard of it before starting this job. I've used fusion and SolidWorks. SolidWorks 15 years ago was better than this.

Everything I try to do is more restricted or takes more steps or isn't even possible.

Yep. It's level 0 tech support, HR, etc. It's about 50% successful. Then when it fails, it connects you to a person.

I'm not looking for medical advice, but more understanding. I have chronic back pain. I can alleviate it completely with only 2 things - alcohol and a heating pad. Ibuprofen lessens it but it's still present. Muscle relaxers do nothing (which makes sense because it's not muscle related, it's spinal disk degeneration).

A tall glass of whiskey makes my back relax and I can move normally. Once it wears off tho, it's right back to tense and painful.

I wish. It takes me around 6 months and hundreds of applications to get a job. That strategy isn't sustainable for me.

To conservatives, it's about tribalism. If you're in, then you're good. If you're out, then you're bad. Your father is saying you're not part of the in-crowd, thus are bad.

IMO, you shouldn't argue with him, either take it as a compliment "yeah, thanks. I do think people should be treated humanely" or go ridiculous "yes! Abolish the state! No private property! Anarchy! Burn it all down!"
