Of course he hates it. Narcissists can only ever cooperate in the short term.

The fact that you need to find a national pride to find value in having a nation is concern. We are a people linked by a shared history and culture. There are elements I am proud of, such as our penchant for relative kindness and understanding, and our recent pushes towards more progressive stances and living, and there are elements I am disgusted by, such as our need to find value in being marginally better than the bigots to our south.

I place no value on the nationalism that you seem to be suggesting we should be finding, and even if I did, I wouldn't be looking for it through our government. Our government is just that: our government. They're not our wayward child, nor our burgeoning hobby. We aren't supposed to be "proud" of them; they're supposed to work for us. They are not our values, nor our culture. At best, they're supposed to represent our culture and values. When they do, I'm not "proud," I'm satisfied, and when they don't, I'm angry, not disappointed.

I sit down every time I go to piss because it's one if the few places where I can be sure I'll be left alone. It's not about the piss. It's about the break.

It's been Jackbox every year for the past 8+ years. A side-effect of hosting the New Years Eve party for a bunch of gamers.

I know green text therefore we prob shouldn't take it seriously, but still, God damn. Losing your family isn't "lucky," even if there are worse outcomes.

Trump allies argue he’s transitioning from campaign rhetoric to governing realities.

"No, you don't get it. Now that he's done campaigning he doesn't have to lie anymore, so he's just telling the truth instead."

I've recently met someone who made me reconsider line between the institution of religious Christianity and what it means to practice the Christian faith. I won't repurpose anything in this article, as it alludes to much of what I've considered, but I want to add a thought to it.

The fundamental problem with the modern Christian faith is that they have no intention of following the ethics and philosophies of Jesus Christ, and instead worship the man himself. They place the man before the teachings, and then define the man however they choose, filled to the brim with their own personal bias', and use their cherry picked and context free Bible passages to justify it.

Motherfuckers need philosophy in their lives. Too bad right-wing politicians have worked hard to gut any form of free-thinking arts.

It's still in the "ChatGPT, tell me about X" format, with headers, bullet points and all.

Billionaire Trump adviser said his ‘significant investments’ in the country justified his wading into German politics

At least we agree: his wealth is everyone's problem. The difference is that I think it's time we do something about it.

One of these things is not like the others...

Don't get me wrong, I am about as anti-capitalist as they come, but, what?

Cynicism is horrible. It is slowly training your brain to always assume the worst in everything and everyone, and has little to do with expectations. Cynicism legitimizes the anger you already feel, and makes it "okay" to yell about it, rather than taking control of your emotions.

You need a philosophy that allows you to take control, not one that justifies your helplessness. Mindfulness practices, and/or existentialist thought eventually leading to positive nihilism can help you.

Edit: After rereading your initial post, I am doubling down on mindfulness practices. The goal of simply not caring doesn't seem to be helping you, so perhaps it's best to try and accept and understand your feelings for what they are, rather than attempt to reject them. Your anger is there, and it is real, but it is your choice to act on it, or let it pass. With time, the practice of "letting it pass" will hopefully result in this being the default position. The brain form habits, and if you start to build a habit of letting go, it'll get easier.
