Making the internet usable again. Without this and ublock, I might quit the whole thing.

You're not unique for just being a contrarian and actively misreading information.

Giving it a whirl right now. Thanks for the recommendation.

Maybe I overreacted, but the person that was shitting on China themselves seemed to just spout US propaganda talking points, when in reality both have huge issues and also their good parts.

If I had to chose, I'd lean in the US's favor overall, but not by much, thankfully I don't live in either of them.

This sounds very close to the description of the US in this very moment. From an outsiders perspective China seems to be doing about as good and bad as the US all things considered.

That is crazy to me. I pay something like 500€/year for house insurance including contents and about 400€/year for the car. So that's about 75€/month. But I'm in a different country so who knows. Your other expenses weren't that different to mine, though.

Do you pay 500$/month on insurance? Or was that a typo?

I had an ipad pro and it was an awful experience for me. Lack of customizations I deem normal, lack of real choice, limitations at every step. The walled garden felt hostile to me, the user. I sold it and got a Samsung tablet instead and it's been perfect. The only thing missing is procreate, but I have alternatives that do 99% of what I wanted.

It used to be done a lot more before and some places still do it in Europe. You return the glass bottle intact, they reuse it as is. Only carbon spent is in transporting it.

That was 15 years ago.

So often it's waterfall planning and execution with agile names for roles and meetings.

We are in complete agreement. Like I said if you get a job in another EU country there's nothing stopping you from getting permanent residency there as well. The discussion was about moving with kids, which is the parents responsibility to figure out when it comes to cost and feasibility, but the EU will not stop them and does not impose additional barriers just because one has kids.
