The concept of sick days is completely unknown in Germany. The company has to pay the first 6 weeks of illness, afterwards the socialized healthcare pays. You can only get fired if you have more than 30 workdays missing in a year due to illness in three consecutive years.

Ich finde den Vorschlag der Lage der Nation gut: lasst die besten Juristen einen Verbotsantrag ausarbeiten und entscheidet dann, ob er eingereicht werden soll. So kann man das Risiko eines Scheiterns minimieren.

  1. Githubs Copilot

  2. ChatGPT for larger coding tasks (its better at explaining what it does)

  3. Deepl.com/write for proofreading and better texts.

Of course its a hype right now. But at the same time AI improved my daily working live in the past year so much! I can outsource a lot of annoying tasks to AI and focus on the more creative tasks and everything strategic.

Also the source is a well known source of fake news, controlled by Qatar, owned by a Palestinian. Definitely don't trust it, until a reliable source confirms this.

MEE is anything, but 'reputable'. Its a Hamas outlet financed by Qatar, run by a Palestinian, with a vast history of spreading fakenews. Just read the Wikipedia entry to get a glimpse or this article for a more in-depth review: https://medium.com/@ibrahimalkhamis/the-middle-east-eye-a-case-of-manufacturing-news-6e068ccf012

The idea of corruption is quiet complex. There are even economists that argue, that slight corruption leads to a more efficient economy, due to minimizing beaucracy.

Nevertheless, corruption can lead to people loosing faith into their government and therefore its inability to fulfill its role in society.

Therefore, this index measures 'perceived corruption' and not 'level of corruption', being closer to an index measuring the trust in the state. If you are interested in a more in depth explanation, I would suggest watching economics explained video to this topic: https://youtu.be/s4C1xiyGaGs?si=rTkOZAWbGKXzjLok

But a single 'this index is bullshit meaningless' is not paying justice to the complexity of this topic.

But this will piss of western countries. I don't want to travel to a country, where criticism of Russia can lead to deportation.

At the same time: the old men visiting Thailand for their sex workers are mostly pro-Putin, due to their similarity of interpretation of 'traditional family values' and the general value of dominating others by force and money, so at least their sex tourism sector won't take a deep hit – if thats what Thai people want.

UNRWA isn't some kind of company you can punish – its the lifeline for millions.

UNRWA has to investigate how something like this could happen and prevent it from happening ever again – especially since Israel has claimed it for years now and was proven correctly now.

But the immediate reaction of UNRWA has shown that it was not the intention to aid terrorists, but a lack of proper oversight and control. So support needs to continue, alongside a reform of the processes of the UNRWA.
