For a while, there was a patent on it, at least in he US. I remember having to root a Sony phone to enable the fingerprint reader on the power button about 10 years ago.

As someone with more RGB things in my house than one should admit to, I can see where the confusion comes in.

They should have specified pigments or light.

However, when you look at it from the perspective of the first things we teach kids about colors, green is a mixture of the primary colors yellow and blue.
