In my network circle, only a few 50+ year olds still use SMS. Either everyone is on my Nextcloud instance, Delta Chat or Signal. Or of they have iphones they use imessages between themselves.
This has been said for over a decade. People were either ignoring this or not paying attention.
It is not hard. One just has to be committed enough.
They never explained why. We all know why. So thankful that I am not a gamer and as such I do not even sign up to Google on my phone via Playstore or even Google Play Services. I can get away with either Aurora or just FOSS apps.
