It's... it's not satire?!

This frame gives off a "This is a 2000s anime cliffhanger shot" vibe. For a second I thought the episode was already over.

Knowing that this image is usually used with "ass" instead of "fire", I was surprised until looking at it closer, cause I thought the episode was great haha

Minami. She's a Japanese artist that I've seen live, well... 0 times. Turns out if you mainly only listen to Japanese music and you live in Europe, concerts don't work out too well for you.

I joined about half a year after the 3rd party apps died. Reddit's decision back then still feels like it was more recent than just 2 years ago, though...

Can time stop speedrunning itself, please?

I ended up creating it and damn, note to self: don't do that at night when you're a bit tired already. Somehow I read your comment without the "don't", which... makes a difference haha.

I added "Undetermined" now, so I'm guessing it's not really an issue beyond the community being visible to less people for its first 10-or-so minutes?

I'm not particularly dead set on having it be once a month, I just figured that would be a good balance between "Me having enough songs to talk about" and "Not flooding the community". I considered a general music community, but I wanted to first ask whether one exists that I missed. I am also considering making one myself.

Well, I guess this shows my on-and-off existence on Lemmy thus far. I had no idea that instance wasn't online anymore. I had subscribed to it way back. Not that it would've been fitting given those rules anyway, but that's good to know, so thanks for letting me know.

I'll look more into what creating my own community would entail.

I don't know whether anyone would be interested since I'm just a random person haha, but I want to start doing this for myself even without posting it. But since I'd be doing it, I thought I might as well post it.

However, I couldn't find a suitable community. There's [email protected], but they have some rules that would conflict with what I would post. "Title of music posts should contain "Artist - Title" in Romaji, optionally additional tags like [year] [genre]", which doesn't work if the post would contain multiple songs. Also "Do not submit more than one link by the same artist per day", since it's highly likely at least one artist will show up with more than 1 song in any given month.

I found some other Japanese Music related communities too, but they're genre-specific, like City Pop.

Thanks for any help, but if there's no such community, that's also fine!

Sweden is one of the non-obvious countries (that being places that aren't like... UK, USA, Australia, etc) that I would have expected to be on this map. So that makes sense that that they're close, just not 90% or higher.

Although I've never been to Sweden, so admittedly my assumption wasn't based on anything.

I knew about this story already, but damn if the article name doesn't make it seem like more of a big deal. (Strictly the article title. Your post title is more clear, I'm not referring to that)

I'm expecting Maomao to see him, have someone refer to him as Ka Zuigetsu, and Maomao will be all like "It is a pleasure to meet you". Not that she wouldn't recognize him, but that she would act like she doesn't.

Is the girl on the left on some meme format? I swear I've seen her before, but I haven't been reading manga recently and the name of it doesn't seem familiar to me at all. So that leaves the possibility of having seen memes of her or she just looks like some other character that I can't pinpoint right now.

I wasn't sure how to name this post so it makes sense, but I'll explain more here.

I say I'm a kinda new reader because, technically, I have read, it's just that most were stuff I hated and was forced to in school. The books I've read for fun have mostly been as a kid, because afterwards I got turned away by the obligativity of reading what are considered classics in my country.

However, since late last year, I've slowly been getting back into reading. For fun this time. I might get criticized for this, but the few I read since then, I downloaded off of the internet. But now I'd like to actually buy them.

With that being said, however, how do you all decide what books to buy? Given that I'm new to (getting back into) reading, I don't exactly have favorite authors that I could make an educated guess that I'll enjoy. Buying a book is a gamble, cause the summary could sound interesting, but the story itself could still be bad. This hasn't been an issue so far, because there's no risk of not enjoying a book if I pirated it. All I would lose would be the time spent on reading however much before I drop it.

I feel like I will end up spending a lot of time pondering about whether I really want X book and reading or watching spoiler-free reviews. How do you decide what to buy? And how often do you end up not finishing a book you've bought?

(An extra question that's of less importance right now, so feel free to not answer to this next one, unless you want to, but paperback or hardcover? What I'm hearing is paperback being more portable, cheaper and comfortable, while hardcover looks way better. Most of the time I'd be reading at home anyway, so portability doesn't matter as much for me. But I would very much like it to be comfortable to hold and all and look great on shelves, so I'm undecided, heh).
