That area has a lot of towns named after states from that time period like Syracuse, Utica, Rome, Carthage, New Berlin (/s)

That's why I advocate for elliptical machines if someone really wants to "run." Running isn't bad for you if you're wear proper shoes, have good form / posture, and run on soft ground. But many people don't do those and end up increasing their life expectancy but with terrible joints. Elliptical machines solve the issue by forcing your body to actually run properly but they eliminate the shocks that come with each step. And you're right - swimming is by far the best cardio anyone can do. Plus everyone needs to learn how to swim.

Sadly I can't do either for now, but hoping to by next Spring.

I used to run 3mi each day until I had to stop due to hip issues that I'm still trying to fix. I never thought I'd miss it this much. One of the biggest things I've been wanting to do for the past few years is to just run for the hell of it. You never realize how fortunate you are to do something until it's taken from you.

I don't think it used to be that way, but it has always struggled with class disparity to different degrees. When the financial security and physical health of people are compromised, they're less likely to be progressive.

The fact is that non-voters either have more important things to do than vote or don't feel they'd make an impact if they did vote.

When countries, states, and localities encourage education, promote mental and physical well-being, provide ample opportunities and fallbacks for financial security, and make it convenient to vote, then people more likely to at least vote, and at most vote progressively.

Scarcity promotes apathy, which promotes conservatism.

Doctors that are likely to flee to Canada are very likely Doctors who care more about helping people than making money. This isn't the issue you should worry about in this context.

Thank God I'm not the only one who absolutely hates this. Over a decade ago, I used an iPhone for a month before returning it for an Android because I hated it so much.

This somehow makes me feel older than the hip pain does
