Honesty I'd agree that it should be allowed, but the EU has a much more strict rules on fair use than most countries has. And as LW is hosted in the EU, that's the rule we have to follow.

But the jurisprudence made it clear that source code is considered as ok as soon as it does not contain copyrighted materials (original 3d models, music, etc). That why I'd prefer to link directly to the source code.

And if they have a direct link to the playable version of that game on said repository, that's not our problem anymore ๐Ÿ˜….

Good read, as always. The link to lego island is broken, on my end at least (it redirects to LW).

For copyright reasons I'd rather it be the link to the decompiled/ported source code rather than directly to the game itself. I doubt they got the 3d models IP owner autorisation to use them, thus falling into the no linking to piracy rule.

There is a little error on the first link of the Next Fest, btw.

But they still exists, and unfortunately some of my white clothes are now light blue due to one of them ๐Ÿ˜….

You gan also use light grey in most cases, except almost translucent clothes.

Why light grey ? Because you can wash it with dark or light clothes, worst case it get a bit darker or lighter. And as there is almost no color, it doesn't spill on other clothes. Moreover, unlike white clothes, you fon't have to worry about it getting a bit yellowish with time, the color is enough to mask it.

I missed Dead as Disco during Next Fest, but as a rhythm game and music aficionado, I'm definitively gonna enjoy this one. ๐Ÿ˜†

Looking forward to your next interview.

Not to defend that asshole, but calling his wife a peadophile may be inexact. Maybe a cougars, but not a paedophile.
We unfortunately have mostly first party testimony on how their love began, so it has to be taken with a grain of salt, but according to them it was Macron that fell in love, and wooed her first.
She refused, because he was underage at that time (and she was his teacher), but once he bacame an adult, he doubled down. And we know the result of that.
Of course that ask the question of possible grooming, but considering he is mature enough to think for himself, I think it isn't something for us to judge.
Now if she surrounded herself with some kind of harem of youger men, that'd be a lot more suspect, but to this day they seem to be an harmonious couple, and faithful to each other.
Let's not judge hastily other people love and story. There are probably a lot of other reasons we do not know.

I suppose not.

Usually when an interceptor touch his target , the next step is "boom".

Great read, as always. A little broken link on the previous posts section (forgotten "]").

Nice to see MS decided to make their (remored) pricing quite aggressive. Especially since it is sold with the dock included.
The base Xbox Ally should be as powerfull as the Deck. It is basically the same chip with 5 more watts of TDP, which can easily be done on the OG deck with a little bios mod.
The biggest one will be a serious blow to the Deck as well as other handhelds. The specs are clearly superior on all aspects, while still being very competitive. Depending on the autonomy and how much bloat was removed, I may be really tempted, despite being a pro-Linux... And probably install SteamOS (or Bazzite) as soon as it works on it.
I hope this will prompt Valve to update the Deck to newer hardware, or at least allow to officially tune up the APU power envelope to 20-25W (vs 15W currently), especially when docked, so we can enjoy higher definition gaming without sacrificing too much graphical settings to the Frametime gods (E33 looks kinda bad on the Deck, especially when docked ๐Ÿ˜‚).

Hi everyone.

It has been a while since last community update, as the old moderation team mostly vanished, and I was for a while the only moderator still active. A lot happened since then, and it is time to get the community back running at optimal pace.

New moderators

First, I'd like to welcome two new (temporary) moderator, that will help me moderating while we reform the community and examine permanent moderator applications.

  • u/JonsJava : You may already know him as the moderator of !gaming@lemmy.world, a video game focused community
  • u/fxomt@lemmy.dbzer0.com (and its moderation alt, ููƒุณูˆู…ุช ู…ุฏู…ุฑ ุงู„ุนูˆุงู„ู…, aka u/modfxomt)

If you wish to help moderate this community, feel free to PM me in order to candidate to be a moderator for this community.

Sidebar rewrite

I took some time to rewrite the sidebar to better reflect the community evolution.

I added two new section:

  1. "Authorized Regular Threads", which are allowed to be post on a regular basis as long as they respect the rules
  2. "Related communities", which contains links to other games related communities. Feel free to PM me to add more of them

I also added links to a git repo to each rule, which point to the current ruleset. Currently all of them points to the same root anchor, but in the near future, every rule will point to their specific section. This will allow to give a lot more detail, as well as examples, without polluting the sidebar.

Community contribution

As a community, I'd like to encourage users to participate in the community. We are not meant to be monolithic, like Reddit was, and we'd like to offer the community the way to better itself, according to its own rules, not some corporate greedy interest.

As such, I'd like to offer you all way to make it your own, with a more democratic approach to moderation. In the following weeks, I'll post multiple topics about it, from which we will collectively amend our rules to better fit its collectively defined purpose.

This will be done in multiple steps :

  1. First, we will open a discutions on current rules, in which we will be able to discuss about them, suggest improvements, and maybe create new rules
  2. The rules will be then internally rewritten in order to respect the community wish while still following LW rules
  3. The new rules will be individually put to vote. If the total is positive, the rule is adopted, if not, the rule will be bought back in a new discussions/amendment topic, until it reach consensus

Best regards,

u/Dremor

Edit 1 : I continued my work on the sidebar, feel free to give me your feedback on it.
