My work ebbs and flows, yet I'm in the office for 8 hours or so a day, so being as efficient as possible all the time isn't a good fit for me.

Where is 'abroad'? Many countries will speak English pretty well, so you may not need it depending on where you are. Any vocab book for that country will give you the basics if English isn't commonly spoken

You don't want to. It's an abstract reference to an uninteresting meme about miscarriage called 'Loss'.

People post things with the format of the position of the people in the meme in 4 frames ( I, II, II, I _), and everyone congratulates themselves and each other for getting the reference.

This one, however, doesn't work in my opinion. The door positions in frames 1, 2, and 3 are meant to indicate people standing, yet the same position of the right door in frame 4 apparently indicates a person lying down.

This, as it happens, is therefore not Loss.
