A rent-a-cop likely has an even bigger inferiority complex, and is potentially more dangerous, for one. Being unable to become a real cop is like being unable to win a staring contest against yourself in a mirror.

A man impersonating a pig, at least.

He’s doing it because he wants to show fealty to his tangerine deity. States can overreach, too, but at least Abbot doesn’t need to falsely claim the presence of an insurrection to trample on his constituents’ rights.

Because of course he is. Russophobia my ass, this dude is just another puppet with Putin’s hand lodged squarely up his ass.

This headline sucks. I thought this was going to be something regulatory, but it’s just businesses making decisions based on their demand forecasts.

I wouldn’t want to travel to the US for anything other than business needs right now either, so as demand has dropped the airlines need to refocus on routes that are increasing in demand. This is basic business acumen.

It’s the QTE debate all over again. If it’s a forced mechanic, meaning there’s no alternative than to learn the pattern and parry effectively, I agree with this guy that it sucks. But I haven’t seen many games where that’s the case.

Modern accessibility standards seem to be doing a better job of making games enjoyable by a wider range of players, giving options to disable QTEs entirely on one end, or offering alternative solutions to fights besides mastery of timing dependent actions on the other.

*because that’s what the prompt they were testing was designed to elicit.

You’re right, and your take is more nuanced. A huge thing about it being a private company is that they aren’t required to disclose who has ownership stakes, performance against revenue targets, etc. Ostensibly, anyone who isn’t on the inside, and even employees who aren’t privy to management decisions, will be met with more or less a black box about the company’s drivers.

There are no shareholders. He took the company private and funds it through advertising and loans. He is the only shareholder.

This feels like suicide by cop. His life was made a misery by the US, and he was waiting for an altercation with police to end it.

And yet the article closes with a farmer saying he’d vote for Trump again, despite the destruction of his labor force and the damage to his livelihood. The cultists are sick.

Many things aren’t important. Life isn’t about strict necessity.

Just a chill video in a series by the creator, Brady Brandwood, about a lobster he bought from a grocery store and rehabilitated into a pet. I appreciate the vibe that Brady puts into these videos and his clear admiration and care for Leon. Thought others might enjoy discovering them, too.

Found this post super informative as it relates to Mastodon, and thought Lemmy might also benefit from this perspective. I'm not sure I share his optimism, but his points seem sound to dampen some of the alarm bells over Meta joining the Fediverse.
