Did he though, or his friends? The whole concept of manslaughter, and murder in the first and second degree is based on intent. Robbing a place is not as bad as murder, I'm sorry. That's ridiculous.

Guns can be used a deterrent. I mean, the US have nukes. Mutually assured destruction. There isn't the intent to use it, just to have it to protect yourself. It's weird they hold kids to a higher standard than their own foreign policy.

Breaking and entering is stupid. It isn't a plan to murder someone though.

I'm from the UK here. That would be manslaughter. Not murder. The whole concept of felony murder is insane and illogical. They went in to rob a place, and theft here would probably be like 5 years actual time behind bars. Here, the case would sit against the cop, and it would be weighed up to be self-defence, so no real charge. This dude, unless he had intention to kill, but simply was involved in the process of theft, then he really shouldn't be held responsible for other people's actions because he made a decision to go there. He's just a dumb kid who made a silly mistake. Basically taking their life away for a fuck up.

The part of the brain that processes risk isn't fully developed until like 24ish, so holding them accountable for something they cannot accurately make a decision on is weird punitive nonsense. Has it led to an actual decrease so is effective as a deterrent? Nah.

Have you got a source that shows that data of FF users actually went to AccuWeather or is this purely speculation?

I just want to say thank you for providing the instance.

For myself, lemmy.world and lemmy.ml are strictly politically one way or another and perhaps somewhat intolerant of other views. I like how this space is something that can be a gateway into interacting with users of all persuasions without the "quick, defederate them all" nonsense. I only hope and wish that lemm.ee grows to maintain it's position as one of the key cornerstones of the lemmy community.

Thanks for providing this space and persisting. I can imagine it has not been easy.

Are the problem with the people who watch the video, or the people who create, or host the videos?

Nah. I'm British, and today is 31/12/2023. We use slashes. American's are just wrong.

All those folk driving because public transport roots don't go where they need to get. All those folk who cannot afford to get the train so drive. All those people that power their homes with power from fossil fuels.

How dare they do that to this planet?

And then some smug green folk will berate them for eating meat and blaming them for the worlds problems and wondering why no one cares or buys into the message.

Industry need to improve and governments need to use legislation to get that change. We need to persuade and encourage, not berate. Praise improvements and notberate sub-optimal behaviour. Do we want to save the planet or just feel good about ourselves?

Valid question. After reading his opinions, why would anyone follow his mastodon?

If he's a good YouTuber, it's like following a footballer who has shit opinions. I'll watch you play football, but screw following your nonsense stream of consciousness.

Nice. That sounds rough. You get enough food? Where do you sleep?

What mods help with that?

I had one play through on builder where I survived winter. Currently back at it on apocalypse mode.

I've survived 200 kills and about 14 days as my best one. I'm currently on about 90 kills in 3 days. Now I'm acquainted, I might start from day 1 and see if I can keep my dude alive.

How about yourself?

There is some things I would have liked to keep up on, but Lemmy has a lot of the stuff I am interested in, and Discord covers some other bits. I use social media less which is good. I am more productive and sleep quicker.

The FOMO is the brain craving dopamine. The solution is getting used to less, not chasing more.

Make the internet work for you, not the internet working you.

I don't use perforce, but if you do a fresh check out to a new location, what state is in currently in? Does it open and play? That will be the current state in version control.
