Death by:

  • worms
  • spiders
  • your own ignorance
  • acid
  • ukko
  • the connoisseur of wands
  • a little bit of experimentation
  • your own ignorance (it just bears repeating I guess)

IIRC their reason was world got pretty big (still is) and spam was coming to the instance. So beehaw decided to defederate until world solved their spam problem. However, as they say, "out of sight, out of mind" so beehaw may just forget about refederating world if they do fix the spam. Who knows

I used to play burnout paradise vanity pack. Haven't gotten into it but it seems to be on a revival since players found an older unreleased (and unfinished) version of Big Surf Island

maar daar kregen ze wel weer vrijheid voor terug.

Wat voor vrijheid gaat dit dan over, want het UMCG klinkt toch best wel als "we willen mensen niet betalen voor het werk dat ze doen"

I'm pretty sure the title implies this will be the first STRAND TWO type game

I decided to load up tropix again. The game is so much more simplistic than I remember it being when I was like 9

Wendy's tried to get into the Netherlands, but couldn't, because there was already a snackbar (think small fastfood place but greasier) that was registered under the name "Wendy's" at the chamber of commerce. This spawned a lawsuit. You had Wendy's, a local snackbar who claimed rights to the name because they were already established, and Wendy's, a franchise coming from America. They claimed right to the name because they were a franchise, and not just a single fastfood joint.

To solve this issue, the local snackbar opened up a second location, making local Wendy's a franchise, and winning them the lawsuit

Meh, I think the people that are interested in the spacebattles thread will have found it through other means like HN. As for discussing the events as they unfold I think that's best left to the forum itself, rather than discuss it at a proxy on Lemmy

For anyone interested, there is a forum thread which is the closest thing we have to a live blog, along with the thread author's opinions on how veritable the claims of each party currently known to try and replicate the study are.

I have a habit of taking casual glances at other people's phones (don't @ me), and I can tell you I can count the times I've seen someone use an alternative Reddit app on one hand, where as the official Reddit app is semi prevalent.

It's really just us nerds that make the move to somewhere else, casual users would never have bothered.

I think it will be a long time until you can find casual lifestyle advice on Lemmy, if ever. Most people have a hard time grasping what the fediverse is, why it's supposed to be good and figuring out how to follow people on mastodon. We'll stay niche for a while
