I've been noticing a bug whenever I go to the page of an instance that doesn't yet exist in the database:

Usually after refreshing, the page shows as usual (assuming after Fediseer was able to download/parse the instance's /api/v1/instance or /.well-known/nodeinfo-2.0 or whatever). Anyone else encounter this? I'm on Firefox 118.0.2 (64-bit) on Fedora release 38 (Thirty Eight)

I guess there's two perspectives you could look at it from here.

  1. The one you already mentioned
  2. By creating a community here, you would be able to get more concise self-hosting-related help with issues that people in our neck of the woods encounter. What that might entail I'm not entirely sure, but all I know is that certain communities, both on and off the fediverse, have differing levels of patience and know-how (I'm looking at you, Arch Linux Forums...) about mutual topics.

There was a vulnerability attack on certain Lemmy instances. As part of the resolution to the attack, all accounts have been automatically signed out. The client currently does not handle this gracefully so you will need to manually sign out and sign back in. I am working on a fix for this.

Since I don't know if YiffIt is/was impacted by this, I would highly advise that you do this for both your desktop AND mobile apps.

Plus, 2FA is a bit of a pain to get set up as of now, but it's worth it if you can.
