another obscure one is 'Soreyuku! Uchuu Senkan Yamamoto Yohko' the 1999 tv anime, directed by Shinbo
it's..
It's an anime about 20th century high school students fighting in spaceship battle contests in 2999

It's short for federated universe.

yeah I mean, we know that.

Yeah, also love the band to be honest ๐Ÿ˜‚... but sure, if it was said in context of a social media networks convesation, I'd get what you're trying to say... or at least ask "not the band, right", lol ๐Ÿ˜‚.

~~it was deadass on /r/technology~~ my bad /r/worldnews when people were talking about twitter alternatives
I don't even know why I got so many upvotes considering nobody ever corrected them

Patlabor, specifically "Patlabor ON TELEVISION" and "Patlabor New Files" (sometimes called New OVA) are about a very comfy close-future environment about a group of police who are under the division for dealing with any mech incidents, meaning giant robot fights will happen in a very down-to-earth setting

I also recommend the movies if you enjoy the GITS movie as it's the same director and he likes exploring a various amount of social commentary, from criticism of institutional inefficiency to existential reflections, (just dont watch the 3rd movie, it has nothing to do with anyone who made the original Patlabor)

There's also the original Patlabor OVA, but I personally didn't enjoy that nearly as much as the tv anime, and some of the characters act a little different, so it might be jarring if you watch that before the tv anime despite it being chronologically made first

While the 1999 version has the old aesthetic that you say you like, I would recommend the 2011 version due to a lot of times just presenting individual scenes so well, the team really came together to make dramatic when it counted, and it also goes further into one of the best arcs of HxH
Nippon Animation did 1999, while MADHOUSE did 2011 if that says anything to you

Finally justice!!

Nah, there's nothing for them to be a hypocrite about. It just struck me as 'hmm' that someone with so few comments could judge that, but the social anxiety bit might also clue in that they've done a lot of reading on here in general as well, and probably are also taking into account a lot of other people's in-depth discussions in their anecdote

Very fair, sorry if my message seems a bit harsh, I overall agree, I just also thought it is a bold declaration this early into the fold

we're definitely not going to hit the July 9th date listed on Steam

I remember the good ol days of reddit when we'd all get assmad waiting, I'm glad they're telling us to be realistic and expect it in 2025

Most Dota players never buy a Battle Pass and never get any rewards from it. Every Dota player has gotten to explore the new map, play with the new items, and accidentally die to a Tormentor; every Dota player benefits from UI improvements and new client features. Community response to New Frontiers has helped us build confidence that working less on cosmetic content for the Battle Pass and more on a variety of exciting updates is the right long-term path for Dota as both a game and a community.

hyper promising, I'm actually genuinely happy that they acknowledge a max-pleasing strategy rather than a max profit one

I feel like I'm going to refer to these places as ActivityPub in the future because I feel like kbin, lemmy, and beehaw sound a bit silly.
Fediverse also sounds like it gets the wrong idea across to a regular person ("does it have to do with 'the feds'?")
I personally like Mastodon, but last time I namedropped it, people were like "ohh, I love that band"
I feel like we're in a naming crisis haha

Part of the fallout also involved the rapid development of ActivityPub alternatives to Reddit. Two such alternatives are Lemmy and KBin

you get a slap on the wrist this time for not looking in the article at the very least

with 4 comments over 4 days I don't know how much of this is either a secret karma farm or honeymoon phase, but at the same time I don't want to force you to exert more posting than you feel like

Common center of mass means they spin around each other, having an equal gravitational pull against each other.
Currently the moon orbits earth, but long long in the future, even though the moon is smaller, it will have waned the pull of the earth to an extent where you both go around in the same circle, this happens quicker with objects the more equal in size they are
the space inside the circle they form is a point called the common center of mass because it's where everything else around them will treat their gravity-source to come from, and both objects revolve around this center.
