From the link:

So 1386+ are doing business as usual, 1955+ are not. That is a majority who changed their business approach with Russia.

The details & filters on the website are impressive and grant a way better insight than the overall numbers.

E.g. to exclude Chinese companies who stay, because why would they leave? Or exclude agricultural/food industries, as no one sanctions those to avoid famine. Or companies from dozens other countries who never implemented any sanctions against Russia, so of course companies from those countries are still in Russia. Or from the UK: BBC "Stay - Continue Operations", "Temporarily stopped work in Russia and decided to operate outside the Russian Federation but on March 8, 2022 resumed reporting from Russia" which is good to have them in Russia and report about Russia to oppose state media (mis-)information.

But that is why the website is so good. It has filters for everything, so it also shows companies in their lists that shouldn't be doing business any more. Or they publicly promised to leave but didn't - which is also noted in the lists.

Just the overall amount(s) isn't a very good benchmark here. It's about the details.

For anyone wondering if it's now Anti-Russian & Anti-German far-right vs Anti-Ukrainian far-right in Poland, they mention that the party of this article "was never a major party in the country", yet "often serving as a platform for views further to the extreme right from the ruling Law and Justice, or PiS party."

It's in the passage right above the picture where they march with the flags and flares.

With the final page, the giant hand waiting above the ship to smash it and then Garp on the ground saying that justice will prevail, I'm expecting 2 things to happen:

  1. A cliffhanger and a different location next chapter, just to be cruel to the reader.

  2. Someone will intervene. Could be Marines sending reinforcements, as they know where Garp went, could be SWORD people, could also be Blackbeard coming home and ending the fighting, taking all Marines prisoner and delaying further events. But with the last page showing so obviously what is going to happen next, I'm expecting exactly these obvious things will not happen. It would be boring to just continue straight forward like that.

So there are options where Garp will survive (for now).

Garp is so cold blooded, just grabs a few pirates as shield from a fire spit and then throws them away into the others.

But wasn't there the expectation/rumour out that Kuzan is with SWORD? So wouldn't a vice admiral know that? So is their whole fight staged?

Usually the NATO countries have temporary and sometimes permanent deployments in other countries. So it is to expect that in the near future, there will be e.g. US, French, Italian troops stationed in Finland or Sweden for some combined exercise over a few months and in rotation with other NATO countries. After the Russian invasion in Ukraine, the US moved troops of the 101st airborne to Romania, close to the border to Ukraine.

Which is the super cool living proof of NATO article 5. If one would the start an attack on Romania or in the example on Finland or Sweden, he would also attack other countries' forces at the same time that are stationed there. So it's not just a combined defence because of some letters on a paper. The troops are already there and would get attacked as well.

It's a good article, just a dumb headline.

I have a few catchy alternatives to offer: Sweden’s slam dunk military... Sweden’s AI powered military... Sweden’s mystery military power...

The article has lots of good information though regarding Sweden's leading edge military technology in multiple sectors, military structure & size and geopolitical opportunities for NATO with Russia's aggression in mind.

Finland in NATO is already a huge gain for the defence alliance. Sweden would as well lift NATO's abilities to new heights. Membership is not 100% guaranteed yet, just one step closer and a positive outlook in Turkey. Hungary already stated they would follow Turkey's position.

Well did they announce it months back or not? Did they deliver or not?

Announcing it now makes it look like they did not deliver or follow through months ago, which is why I am asking here for more information. This announcement is a bit irritating.

This announcements irritates me. Didn't France announce it right after the UK announced it, months ago?

I remember after the first reported Storm Shadow hits and discovered wreck pieces, everyone was eager to see if there are English or French markings on them.

26 years already in two chapters and Oda is pumping the craziest content. Garp and Kuzan using warships for training...

As you're saying, it could be so many reasons - or nothing. It's just a single day. Let's see tomorrow or even the next 5 days to interpret anything into the numbers.

I'm quite disappointed by most comments so far talking about RAID and data loss. That is not what RAID is for at all.

RAID is for uptime/availability. When a drive fails, the system will keep running and working. For companies, that would lose thousands of currency per hour with a downtime, this is super important that the system keeps running. At home, it's convenience that you can order a new drive and replace without hours of setting up and copying before you can watch the next episode again.

Backups are against data loss. If a single drive fails, a RAID fails or you get some encryption malware or an employee destroys stuff on purpose, then everything is destroyed. It doesn't matter if it was a single, any RAID, HDD or SSD. You order a new drive, make a new volume and restore the data from your backup.

No one gets kicked off or picked. This is a quite regular occurrence in air traffic and the crew is then simply asking if someone would be willing to take a later flight. Those passengers also get some money for their inconvenience. This happens all the time.
