a later sudden uncritical swing to being an ML followed by backsliding

I'm in this picture and don't like it. I doubt I'll ever get over my philosophical distrust of hierarchy, but somehow this made it finally click that I should at least read some theory (and not short versions, or long explanations of the current systems at play in China) before continuing being critical of MLism.

Tbh, I think seeing how insufferable libs are, and how the so-called anarchists of blahaj prefer them to us, really primed me for this awakening. Thanks.

For me, it was when Bernie campaigned harder for Hillary than she had campaigned for Obama, and then also how "Bernie Bros" were blamed for her ensuing loss to a human cheeto.

I used to be for this, but then I started finding out about all that is lost when a language is, and now it makes me sad to think of losing any more than we already have. But also, pragmatically, it'd be awesome to not have language barriers. Need sci-fi style universal translators.

Let people know the intended experience is challenging. If people aren't able to meet the game at its level of challenge, for any number of reasons, and turn the difficulty down to where it is doable to them, why not let them? Set the default to the "intended experience" but let people of different ability levels have their fun too.

By the way, people who are much better than games on average are also not having the "intended experience", but no one is upset at them for not "respecting art". People playing Dark Souls on guitar hero controllers or w/e aren't having the "intended experience".

The anti-easy mode discourse is just ableism in a mask.
