If it's youtube, I just back completely out of the video and exit the app and go somewhere else with my time. I do it every time, and now they don't show me 30 second unskippable ads anymore.

It's true. The good ones get purged and blacklisted, while the bad ones get hired at another station if they get fired for good cause. Just listen to the stories that the actual good cops tell when they're forced out for actually being good.

The system can be fixed, but it would have to be remade from the ground up with a select group of trustworthy people who would have to be very scrupulous about background checks and creating a culture. We might be able to bring in outside consultants from places with better cops, like Europe or Canada.

I respect that sentiment, but if that happens, his stupid conspiracy believing gun-nut militia joining followers would probably engage in multiple mass shootings nationwide. It's appalling how lax red state gun laws are.

As it is, when he goes to jail, I wouldn't be shocked if there's a handful of shootings anyway.

It's true. Kevin Feige (of the Marvel movies) once said something like, "People love chocolate ice cream, but if that's all you offer them every day, they'll start to hate it." and for a time, it seemed like he and Disney / Marvel understood that, which lead to such a wide range of movie genres for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the breakout successes... but now I feel like they've forgotten that, and now we get the formulaic "Marvel Movie" template shoveled out, and now they're slowly starting to fail.

And for good reason. People need variety, and it's because entertainment producers don't understand this need that so many major studios are flailing. Hence the recent purge at Pixar for example, and why Ubisoft is struggling lately, etc. It's not just game publishers that have this issue, it's movies, tv, and comics too. Like the recent "Death" of Ms. Marvel which is eerily similar to all the extremely temporary crap that happened to Peter Parker's Spiderman in the past, like the "death" of his aunt, or his "marriage" to Mary Jane.

I know why they would do this (profit) but given that they should know that this'll lead to disease problems and infectious meat that'll harm people (including possibly themselves and their own family and friends) shouldn't they stop and think "Oh, this'll probably cause big problems in the future, even for me." and stop this shit?

Don't get me wrong, I think the meat industry needs major reform, and that meat alternatives should be greatly supported, but in the meantime, even profiteers should know better than this. And if the don't, people and governments should force them to do the right thing anyway. That's why government actually exists, not to do the bidding of the highest paying donors.

Might check this out someday. Remember liking the original and its dual wielding back when it was somewhat new-ish. I doubt it's aged well though. It was current back in the Doom 1 era after all.

Honestly, things like this were why I thought that Blu-Ray drives would take off. It's why I bought a Blu-ray RW drive in 2014 for my PC build because I thought it would be the future as game and media sizes would only get bigger and more of a pain to download.

I was wrong, but I wish I hadn't been. At least I can rip my PS3 Blu-rays to play them on emulators now. It's hard to go back and play them at 720p on a big screen without all the features that emulators give me. Rendering at 1440p (minimum) just being the start.

I was like that when I was young. Now all my plans involve me forcing myself to do 1 or 2 productive things a day besides the stuff I have to do, and then just calling it a day and pushing aside the rest of the stuff I probably should do till tomorrow. Or more realistically, the next weekend or holiday.

I don't lie to myself anymore, I just admit that if it's not 100% vital, it won't get done quick, if at all.

That's good of him, but I wonder if that can even pass, given that Republicans hold the house, and Manchin and Sinema exist. In the end, I'd settle for $10 to $11 an hour, the removal of loopholes like $2.13 minimum an hour for tipped wages, and similar fixes.

It's a good starting point at least, and Manchin said he was okay with an $11 minimum wage. I just hope it's not just fronting, and something actually comes of this.

Honestly, I found Gears 5 worse than 4. Less tight, more bloat and filler, and a totally unnecessary and slow "Open World" section where you slowly sail around a big winter map looking for collectibles and places to go. Killed the flow for me, and I couldn't finish it, even though I was playing it on Game Pass for a fraction of the box price.

The storyline was totally ridiculous as well, total shit. And yes, that's even considering that this is a Gears of War game.

Edit: If you want to know what's going on in Gears of War by the way, the first game (which is remastered I think) is a good place to start for the original trilogy, and the 4th game is the start of the "New" trilogy, which is not yet completed. I'm sure Gears 6 will be out eventually, but for now it's not out yet. If I had to choose between Gears 4 and Gears 1, I would say 1 is the better game.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this, but will wait for multiple reviews. I'll also do my usual thing of waiting 6 months to a year for it to go on sale and for all the major issues to get patched. My backlog's barely getting smaller, and there are always games from last year or two years ago that are just going on sale now with the patches containing the fixes and stuff that should've been there at launch.

I just hope that BG3 isn't TOO big to handle. If it's big and good, that's great. If it's big and uneven, that's not so great. I hope it is good though, because I just don't have the time and inclination to get together with people to try and play tabletop DnD anymore. Even online, it can still be a surprising hassle.
