They'll get rid of it.

A gun? In this country? It's got more rights than most of us.

Ive actually thought about this a lot, specifically since 2020, but for the past 15 years as a white LGBT person.

I think the reason millennials are the ones to make fucked up depression jokes is in part because of the crisis after crisis being shoved in our faces through social media at an extent never really seen before compared to newspaper and TV. But the other part is how we could learn about all the atrocities that have happened. Like, in WWII's Pacific theater, a lot of that never got discussed in school. Or how Korean war or Vietnam war or even civil rights were all just a footnote after the WWII section which took the bulk of my history class's time.

I feel the Internet wasn't mainstream as a kid, at least not in today's sense. My whole family didn't get a Facebook till the 10s. And I think millennials got to see past a lot of the propaganda because even the gov hadn't figured out how to monopolize on the idea. Which I think is why GenZ is turning more fascist. Since the powers that be have figured out how to reach out through YouTube shorts and insta reels or whatever. It's like it skipped millennials for a minute and swung full force once it figured out how to target a generation who grew up on iPads instead of IRC or AIM chats.

To add to that, the black loves matters movement and civil rights in the 2020 era, is the first time there was an awakening to white folks like me at a deeper level to start researching heavily into what civil rights even meant beyond who MLKJr was and who the Black Panthers even were beside 'militant black people.'

I feel like the 2020 era was when white millennials as a whole, but also Gen X and Z to a degree, started to really see how much systemic injustice really effects us all, but especially POC and native Americans. I only had a vague awareness of anything up until I was in my 20s.

Now, the more I learn of the struggles, the more I can see how easy it is to be buried by propaganda. So when I hear "make America great again" all I can think is how it was finally starting to be truly great with progressive movements and that my definition of 'great' hasn't even existed before.

And as a final note, that making America great again, to the standards of those who tout that concept as a banner, is to revert to where everyone who's in the struggle together just goes back into silence and submission.

And that ain't too great, imo.

We have a weird placement for our apartment. We don't really have the sun direct in the winter. And no window in the restrooms, unfortunately. I've got her at the best window I can try for. Plus, our cat constantly tries to eat her if I place her in any other window. It's so frustrating.

Lol, could've been bad. I hate the new UI.

Noted. We have some orchid food.. is that the same as what you mentioned? Google it's not too helpful with the term 'orchid dung,' sorry.

We had trimmed at the dead stalk section. I think my wife threw the brown stalks away. I just did some reading on that word, keiki. Seems you are right with the roots and hopefully we can grow something out of this. It's heartbreaking. We are trying really hard to keep her alive but we suck at plants and green thumbing. Thank you for your advice though!

Mhm! The bad leaf popped off without issue for my wife. I snipped the stalks down. Hopefully she can recover... The plant, I mean. Not my wife. We both don't have green thumbs but really want to.

Thank you for the advice!

It popped off on it's own for my wife 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for your advice!

If you swipe down on the notifs twice, you can edit them to be similar to the previous style.

On topic of your post, fuuuuck everything about their forcing AI, but my biggest gripe is how they moved the audio display (from, like, Spotify or audiobook readers/podcast apps) to the bottom of the lock screen as a tiny bar on the bottom instead of showing me all the info as it did before. It's super annoying when I swipe to unlock and pause what I'm listening to.

Thank you for your response.

Would you recommend removing the dead leaf..? It seems to be growing new greenery.

A maybe dead orchid. Half the stems are green. Some of the leaves are dark green. We're aren't sure if we can save her but we don't want to throw her out, if there's a chance. Any help appreciated!

I was laughing. Now I feel personally attacked. 😅

You're not wrong tho

I don't know anyone IRL I can explain this to, or discuss this with

Played Dark Souls for a little, but not much. Elden Ring, I beat and loved.

With Demon's Souls lately, and this week... I spent no less than 4 days going the wrong. fkn. direction.

Got my little mace, a shield, and a wand for spells (I like being a battle mage, sue me!)

This Maneater boss was beating my ass, so I needed some help.

Found out about a spell I could buy if I could save a witch. So, I went to that level and headed for where I thought the witch was, but I had the world tendency of black, so the game was so much harder and I couldn't get past these double-spawning black phantom fat officials.

So, I needed some help. Didn't even understand world tendency, had to Google that a couple times Found out about a way to reset neutral in the first act, if I got rid of some executioner lady. I go back, but she wasn't there. Needed pure black world tendency, I guess. I go get my little stone to resurrect my body, got killed and then cheesed the executioner by accident because she fell into a pit after she spawned.

Okay, reset to neutral. Go back to area, past where the black phantom fat officials were, and fought my way to a fog door. Where was the witch?? Oh. Oh no.

I had to open a door, behind me the whole time to get a key for a gate nearby the spawn where I'd start each run, for the past four days. Before resetting my world tendency. AND I already had the dang key.

Okay. Pop myself in, get the next key, rescue some joe schmo?? Find out where the witch actually is, through a gate and up some stairs. Well, I've already had the dang disguise to get the guy to drop the stairs and could've rescued her so easy.

Got her, got the spell. But... Needed another memory slot, so I grind out 3 levels for 18+ INT and can now cast a big fire storm, thinking minimal damage. The spell destroys everything, and it's fkn awesome.

I take that spell and go burn the man-eater boss dudes with ease in my second try, after fighting a black phantom mind flayer on some stairs and getting my ass kicked 4 times.

Man-eater dead, I can finally move on.

I now understand why folks said Elden Ring was so easy. Still, climbing castles and whipping spells and smackin' heads with a mace is so freakin' satisfying. I bought Dark Souls 1 & 2 on sale and I'm so excited to play them. Getting lost and back tracking and figuring out NPC quests, giving up on all that and googling just to find out it's even easier than I thought or waaayyyyy more confusing is part of the fun. But a mace and an epic spell is all I need, IRL.

I fkn LOVE fromsoft.
