I was hoping to have someone say that.

This fixed it. Thank you!

I just tried Super+P and did manage to get it to show on my laptop, but I still can’t get the image to show on the monitor. I tried hooking up my laptop to my tv and there were no issues. My monitor doesn’t have any issues with windows or mint either, just bazzite for some reason. And it didn’t have an issue when I was first installing it either.

KDE or gnome but I chose KDE.

I just tried that and it did sort of work, in that I can now use my laptop screen, but I still can’t find a way to get it to show on my monitor. I hooked up my laptop to my tv to see if that worked and it worked perfectly fine. My monitor doesn’t have any issues with windows or mint, just bazzite for some reason.

Hello there.

I’m a newbie to Linux and am still figuring everything out. I posted here a few days ago and you fine folks helped me with a problem. Now I’m in need again.

I decided to distro hop a little bit just to see what I like best, and am currently testing out Bazzite since I mostly use my PC for gaming at the moment and heard that one’s a good one for gaming. I’m using a laptop hooked up to an external monitor right now. After installing Bazzite I was asked what I wanted to do with the external monitor. Since I never use my laptop screen, I chose the option to only display on the external monitor. Unfortunately that didn’t seem to play nice, and now my laptop screen is black (obviously) but the external monitor is saying no input anymore. It accepted the input up until making that choice. Now I can unplug the monitor and use the laptop screen just fine, but my setup makes that quite annoying, plus I want to use my monitor obviously. The biggest problem is I can’t adjust the monitor settings without the monitor plugged in, and I can’t see anything with the monitor plugged in. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? I’ve never faced it before in my years of using windows, and I didn’t have this problem in Mint either. I don’t really want to reinstall, but I will if I have to. If anyone knows of a solution without reinstalling I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I’ll give it a look. Thanks.

It actually took two attempts with Ventoy, the first time the drive failed part way through. I think it overheated or something, it was very hot. I had to wipe it and try again, giving it time unplugged to cool down between flashing it and installing it, and that seemed to work fine. Probably a hardware issue though, it’s a cheap drive

I just did the switch last night! I don’t regret it yet and doubt I will. You should give it a shot.

What do you recommend for switch emulation? I was looking into possibly doing it sometime soon.

I ended up getting it to work. I’m still not sure what the issue was, but I wiped the USB and tried using Ventoy to flash instead and that seemed to work. No idea why.

I managed to get it running last night and installed on my system. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.

Okay update, part way through the installation process (before it actually started downloading, when it’s still asking questions about languages and location and password and all that) it said it failed and lost connection to the drive or something, then froze. When I tried to re-boot it, it started saying “invalid magic number, load kernel first” or something around those lines. It’s getting late here, so I’ll try it again tomorrow. If you know of anything I can try, I’ll attempt it when I get the chance.

I tried redoing it right after replying to you.

Just tried Ventoy, it worked perfectly. Thank you! I appreciate it.

Hey there. I’m totally new to Linux. I’m not the most tech savvy, but I’m fed up with windows and want to go elsewhere. For the time being I figured I’d dual boot, and got everything set up on a usb. I plugged it in, booted up Linux Mint, and it worked smoothly. I ended the session, powered off my pc, removed the usb, booted up windows 11, freed up some disc space and did some other stuff on my computer, then turned it off for a bit. When I went to boot it up again, I got this message:

Failed to open \EFI\B00T\mmx64.efi - Not Found Failed to load image ??: Not Found Failed to start MokManager: Not Found
Something has gone seriously wrong: import mok-state() failed: Not Found

and then the computer powered off. I tried disabling fast start or whatever it’s called, as well as secure boot, and it’s still giving me that. Windows still boots up just fine. Does anyone have any advice? Like I said I don’t have much technical knowledge so a dumbed down response would be really appreciated. I’ve looked up a few forums and nothing gave me much.

Oh also, when I try to boot it and it gives me the error and turns off, if I turn it back on but boot up windows, I get a message saying something was blocked due to a security system I have to disable, but doesn’t tell me what that security system is or how to disable it. It’s getting a little frustrating. I don’t know why it worked once but not anymore.

Update: I got it working. Thanks everyone for the help.

My wife and I have started making this for late breakfast/brunch on shared days off (doesn’t happen often since we both work shifts). The white drizzle on top is a homemade lime crema I made specifically for these wraps.

Filling: eggs, onion, garlic, mushroom, peppers, feta, spinach, tomato, sun-dried tomato, parsley, basil, ham, spices (cracked black pepper and smoked paprika). I melted some havarti on the wraps too just before adding the filling.

This was more of a “oh shit we need to use up some of this fresh produce before it goes bad” kind of meal but it turned out great so we added it to the rotation. Some of the flavours definitely do blend together so you could absolutely remove some ingredients and it would still work well, possibly better, but I think it’s still very good. I think next time I’ll cook some bacon, fry everything in the bacon fat, and omit the ham.
