That’s black mirror and not electric sheep right?
I didn’t know they were even doing another season.. (yessssssss!!!)

I had a tornado the other day as part of my bedtime severe storm. Stopped like a few blocks from my place.
Not as relaxing as a standard thunderstorm, if I’m being honest.
Well, the vast majority of people who came here about a year ago from Reddit did so explicitly because of the 3rd party app situation (and many of the app devs came as well), making apps a massive priority for Lemmy as a byproduct. As a direct result, we have tons of options for the size of the platform (I believe iOS has about a dozen apps/PWAs and roughly the same for android, and afaik only 2-3 of them cross-platform).
It’s probably fair to say most of those individuals are still using the apps by default if they are still on Lemmy, even if you don’t see how that’s desirable. And they are an option for new users as well who haven’t gotten used to any of it yet.
So the issue you are talking about is not solved by apps with multi-account support, because we’ve had that for a large portion of users for many many months. The people who would be creating secondary and tertiary accounts are going to do that anyway. Plus it’s not like it’s difficult to navigate to a different webpage on web and sign in to that. I manage my account stuff on the web versions of my instances, and never had a problem getting between them. You could probably even have multiple accounts logged into multiple tabs without issue (I haven’t tried, so unsure)
I’m on a smaller instance because I wanted to be. I have another account that I made before this on a large instance, because I didn’t understand the fediverse or instances, or how to find one. People mostly start on larger instances because they can find them (the apps have lists of default instances to sign up with, for example, which are mostly bigger ones), and most stay there because it’s easier. Sometimes they get sick of the drama or the issues and move somewhere smaller like I did. They actively want to be on a smaller instance, whether because they understand the value of spreading out or because they just don’t want to be on one of the big instances that causes drama or whatever.
Afaik all my Lemmy apps (I keep 5, iOS) have support for multiple accounts..? Maybe that’s not what you mean, but if so what do you mean?
See but the thing is nothing ever actually gets clean, so it’s a very pointless stuck.
You see something to clean up and start to do it, but on the way you find something else and gets distracted, and before you know it you have 16 things in hand and no idea what you intended to do with any of them. And very little has actually been accomplished.
Like downloading a picture on dial-up
The important question here is “for how long?”
Because like.. a day sure. A week maybe. Longer? lol fuck no.
Haha that’s exactly what I was expecting it to be. I haven’t seen one of those things since I swiped a penthouse from a seedy gas station back in the 90s. They were advertised in the back and solidly piqued my curiosity. Because surely, surely, it’s not even close.
Nothing wrong with that, if your diet allows for the higher fat content and it makes you happy. I’m certainly not going to judge when I have bought heavy whipping cream on multiple occasions for likely the same hedonistic, vaguely taboo, reason.
However, despite having advanced tastes, we are well in the minority. Most people find the mouthfeel alone (by alone I mean without enhancing the flavor) to be… mildly unpleasant. And I sort of get that; we don’t have many super creamy drinks, and the ones we do have are wicked rich/sweet. Whipping cream doesn’t taste like much, in the traditional sense, it’s just more expensive and a higher calorie load, and gives you more phlegm, so most people aren’t going to want it outside of cooking where the lack makes a notable difference. Same with half and half; it’s an ingredient and not a food itself.
If you get something out of the mouthfeel and richer flavor that makes it worth it for you, though, you do you. I totally get it. The richness combined with lactose, instead of sucrose or fructose which are harder on my gut bacteria, is deeply satisfying to me, and always has been.
And here I thought their shitty TVs were breathtakingly stupid and over complicated (seriously there are like 6 different fucking menu screens in different places, and best of luck remembering which one you need for something stupid simple like sleep timer..)
Then again, I’ve been avoiding Samsung since the tv incident 10 years ago.. apparently for the best..
