Aber rein strategisch gesprochen kann ich mir schon vorstellen, dass diese Aktionen "funktionieren". Wäre ich ein potentieller E-Auto-Käufer, würde ich es mir aktuell zweimal überlegen, einen Tesla zu kaufen. Selbst wenn mir der Nazi-CEO egal wäre, hätte ich keinen Bock darauf, dass mein Auto angezündet wird. Da ist die Versicherungsfrage ja erst mal egal - auch so hast du als Betroffener sehr viele Umstände, für eine Weile kein Auto, vielleicht auch persönliche Gegenstände mit dem abgebrannten Auto verloren etc. Den Stress will einfach niemand, und ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass das Leute bei ihrer Kaufentscheidung beeinflusst.

Ob das jetzt insgesamt einen relevanten Effekt hat, dürfte kaum zu messen sein. Tesla schmiert gerade ab, aber das wird auch viele andere Gründe haben.

I do some volunteer work in a non-profit that operates globally. We hold an annual team meetup in changing locations. In the past few years we did Canada and several European cities. For a while now, the plan had been to hold 2025's meetup in the US as we have several team members from there. But as it stands, we'll choose a different location because too many team members have said they're not comfortable travelling to the US under the current administration.

We're talking some 20-30 people not travelling to the US and spending money there. Obviously a small number but as you said, it adds up.

Fun fact, that word is etymologically related to "placenta".

It's really fascinating the way the US has alienated most of its allies in such a short time frame. I can't think of a single example of something like this happening in history.
