Watched some movies

Heart of Stone 4/10Action/spy schlock, macguffin that through the power of AI can see the future and the good guys who use it to maintain the status quo. Bad guys want to use it to destroy the status quo because theyre bad.
I was bored but its only slightly worse than marvel tier slop.

Barbie 8/10
Very silly. It doesnt beat the "criticism subsumed" allegations and it knows it.

the pod generation 5/10Its the 22nd century and birthing pods are real. The movie follows a married couple through their pregnancy.

This movie took a pretty straightforward and interesting premise, and then spends way too long navelgazing instead. Like its 21XX and shits noticeably worse even for our wealthy pmc botanist researcher husband and AI designer wife protagonists. The movie will bring up a new detail of the dystopia and not really do anything with it. Even the themes they do nominally focus on (alienation) dont really cohere into anything by the end of the movie.

The feel good parent/child bonding scenes did feel good though.

Interesting premise, mostly wasted

I mean the required readings involves us picking which queer/bipoc/socialist takes on the effects of computers we're going to write book reports on. So im sure the instructor is trying to fight the reactionary tendency of the discipline
