At my last job there were TVs all over the building and anytime I had an excuse, I'd switch them to 10 hours of Gandalf Sax Guy.

Except at the holidays. Then it was Nick Offerman's Yule Log, and/or the Star Wars Holiday Special.

5 seasons seems like a good run these days, but what's with the 5th being short? These seasons are short enough as it is.

I tend to wear jersey knit, short sleeve polo shirts. They feel like wearing a t-shirt, give me plenty of room in the neck (I hate anything remotely tight around my neck or wrists), look normal tucked or untucked, fit in in most professional situations, and can be upgraded with a sport coat if I absolutely have to. I just have to be careful to find ones that don't have the ribbed (itchy) hems on the arms - I want a wide open arm hole. My go to brand just added them so I have to find something new.

I have never found a comfortable suit jacket or sport coat, I don't think they exist for me.

I don't have much advice for pants, I don't have many sensory issues as long as they're not binding. I usually wear wide-leg levis and keep a pair or two that are in nice enough condition for most business casual circumstances. Then I have a couple pair of slacks that I just had to find by trial and error for the other (rare) occasions.

We were born into a system that requires that we make money if we want to participate. Hopefully the means of doing so has at least some desirability beyond that, even if only "this line of effort seems interesting enough that I wont constantly fantasize about stepping in front of a fast moving bus, and thus ruining its driver's money making obligation too."

It's been common (at least in my area) since the OG VW Beetle

Is there one that requires 6 hands for thruples?

The only time I've gotten banned was for saying we should eat the rich. I didn't even include my recipe for slow cooked billionaire ribs.

Horses know how the world works, that's why they're always giving it the middle finger.

My favorite thing about quantum physics is that Schrodinger's Cat was presented as a criticism. It was the most ridiculous extension of quantum superposition that Schrodinger could come up with. But then all the quantum physicists went, "YES! That's a perfect way to explain it. Let's teach that to middle schoolers!"

According to their press kit, their casino alone has 93,000 feet. All of them square for some reason.

UHC, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Caresource and more are removing or redirecting their about us pages.

Brad Currier, a 20-year employee of the bakery and BCTGM union representative, says they’ll be in the same place they are now when Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers (BCTGM) International Union Local 114 is negotiating their next contract in three years.

“We’re expecting things to get worse, not better, over the next three years,” Currier says.

“They’re coming into work on the scheduled shift, and then they’re told that their shift has been canceled, and that they need to come in the next day, which is their scheduled day off,” Gettman says. “This happens to them all the time, so they have zero work-life balance.”

Software engineer Vishnu Mohandas decided he would quit Google in more ways than one when he learned that the tech giant had briefly helped the US military develop AI to study drone footage. In 2020 he left his job working on Google Assistant and also stopped backing up all of his images to Google Photos. He feared that his content could be used to train AI systems, even if they weren’t specifically ones tied to the Pentagon project. “I don't control any of the future outcomes that this will enable,” Mohandas thought. “So now, shouldn't I be more responsible?”

The site (TheySeeYourPhotos) returns what Google Vision is able to decern from photos. You can test with any image you want or there are some sample images available.

I can't say it better than (TV's) Frank Conniff:

Kentucky Fried Movie, Airplane!, Police Squad, Top Secret, etc... I mean, come on! All of these projects and more gave us not just laughs, but huge belly laughs. Jim Abrahams was an inspiration to me and I will be forever grateful for all the great comedy he gave us. Rest In Peace.

Conan O'Brian did this to me.

Zozo strained a tendon last week so he's forced to postpone his calling of being an orange rocket. He's healing up though.

Mark McKinney from The Kids in the Hall (SNL, Superstore and more) has a series on CTV in which each episode has him trying out a new hobby by spending time with a mentor. In series 1, episode 6 his mentor is James Chatto who is Mae Martin's dad. They show a brief clip from the prize task.

Mark, James, and another puppeteer

Just before the reveal I said to my wife, "I half expected them to tap Mae's dad for this" since I didn't recognize him by name.

Sadly, I'm not sure how to watch it legally outside Canada or a VPN's Canadian IP.

The 30 second promo for Turkey Day just went up. Just when I thought maybe there wasn't going to be anything this year.

Hosted by Jonah Ray, this year’s marathon features celebrity MSTies David Dastmalchian, Mike Flanagan, Bryan Fuller, Mark Hamill, Matthew Lillard and Kumail Nanjiani and MST3K stalwarts Joel Hodgson, Felicia Day, Emily Marsh, and Mary Jo Pehl, all of whom will share a favorite MST3K episode with their fellow fans. The fun starts bright and early at 5 am ET on November 28 on Shout! TV and The MST3K Channel.

Sam Bond's is closing after almost 30 years. I feel like this is one of the most iconic closures since Max's.

I'll go ahead continue today's trend of awesome orange kitties.

Our Laszlo (aka Zozo) likes to show up early in my work day so he can watch all the little faces during my morning meetings while using my wrist as a pillow. Then we turn on some youtube cat tv if he sticks around after meetings are over.

Ok this is more disappointing than infuriating, but I've been voting for 26 years and just once I want the state or county to give me a frickin' sticker.
