One of the most fascinating responses to trolls I've found to DM trolls back in the day was "What happened to you to make you act like this?"

It was amazing how just one question was enough for these jerks to do a 180° and trauma dump, explaining exactly why they were so desperate for attention.

Not that it excuses their behavior, but boy did those trolls really just need a hug now and a single decent adult back in their childhood. Maybe that's just the nature of the ones who wanted to talk, though...

I've seen some incredible 2D Christmas trees with gallery rails, if you celebrate.

My local discount zoo of a store was selling cold brew tea for a dollar so now I have twenty-four boxes of cold brew Watermelon Lime Zinger.
But seriously, for $1 that's crazy economical and I am on some medication where it is paramount that I stay hydrated.

My more normal snag is produce crates. The local asian market literally gives them away and they're incredible tools for organization! They stack, you can take wire cutters to the plastic grill on side to make them into stackable cubbies, and they help organize the trunk of your car.

If I'm doing better in the spring I'd like to ise them to make raised beds for growing some veggies.

Oooh, this sounds nice, I don't know why I haven't done one for myself. The ones I tried with suction cups don't ever work.

Stl link?

I joined a local vegan group for some recipes because I have some dietary restrictions.

You know what they post about?

•Foie Gras is bad

•Where the FUCK can I buy a good breakfast

Seriously, these people just have this insane fixation on breakfast foods, and how much better they taste when someone else cooks them for you.

Just stop focusing on the noisy ones and try giving people the benefit of the doubt. You might be surprised at how nice people can be.

Yeah, its a red flag.
They indicate potential problems, which is why you look for multiple, but even one obvious one is enough to make you a bit cautious, it makes sense.

But if its someone I know, and who isn't a native English speaker and is pretty chill, I'm probably going to let it slide for a couple uses, then gently ask them why they're using a certain term in a nice pause in the conversation.

I'm lucky to have had friends from lots of other places, but it can make things so awkward with corrections, even if it has to be done.
But people can absolutely wind up learning horrendously out of date language without meaning any malice. I've seen it happen because of confusion regarding the existence of the NAACP, and the use of the term, "People of Color."

The way OP is talking makes it sound like he could likely talk it out with the other people, and I think that may be the best option. (though I can understand why they may want some insight from the internet first)

Can you give us more context?

"Woman" is almost always preferred because it respects one's personal identity, as opposed to the compulsory status of biological sex, which is often used as a source of belittlement and/or bigotry against women. (and carries a whole plethora of baggage when people decide they get to judge someone's female-ness)

But it doesn't mean that you shouldn't generally be able to use the term "female" without causing social friction, if you have a good amount of social grace.

(its actually quite normal in fantasy/scifi circles, for example)

I think you may be asking the wrong question- you may want to explain what you were talking about and ask what specific phrases or situations might have unsettled people.

Maybe it was just a weirdly specific English faux pas, or maybe you have a friend who is a little extra sensitive after bad experiences and who could use your support. Maybe its a total miscommunication- who knows?

Are you on an Android? Are you perhaps extra flexible?

Try one handed mode and see if moving the keyboard around helps. Even shrinking it a bit might actually be an improvement, so you don't have to bend your thumbs so hard.
Helps me

Even before data sales, though, a baseline, universal car never happened. Was there never a market or was a market never allowed to form?

Or perhaps the tech in a car really does advance faster than I understand? But then how would retro cars be street legal?

This seems like such a wretched inevitably. I mean, I guess we're living it with phones, but it seems so unnecessary with cars.

Is there really no market for the same boring car, with minor efficiency tweaks, for, like, ever? I coulda lived with my 95' Accord forever if the parts hadn't been too expensive.

Do es the market really not want that, or do the manufacturers prevent it from happening?

Any Automancer please explain, I'm not car enough to understand.

Well, I'm not exactly super rich from med bills right now, but being physically well enough to do normal stuff would be a pretty bittersweet miracle. I'd take it in stride.

I have a few loved ones who are pretty well off who would probably want to go on a few vacations with me, and I'd probably go do some cool stuff with some fandoms (I'm not even that into Xena but I want to go to a Xena event some time because that's real fandom goals IMO) to celebrate nice people who exist and raise awareness of whatever's killing me.

If I were dying, love to do something dumb like ask the world for enough stickers to cover an entire car with pokemon or ponies or dragons or something.

You would remember some obscure disease if it were the Dragon Sticker car, right?
