You can switch the whole program to English in the settings I guess?
Totally fair. Sounds fun :)
Honestly, why not ask Discord support? It's literally their problem they'd want to fix most likely :D
I just kinda wonder why when you're in a browser or node, you wouldn't just do
const json = {...};
json.friends.filter(f => f.age >= 18);
why learn another language when you already literally got the language to process JavaScript Object Notation right there.
I've been using that for all my JSON extraction and processing needs. Let me automate a bunch of my builds for JS stuff for FoundryVTT https://gitlab.com/foundry-azzurite/pings/-/blob/master/build/build.sh
If you use it in the web version, I have LULs, a script which makes all Lemmy links that point to a different instance which you encounter while browsing, to point to your instance.
True. What happens if you don't do the other thing you're avoiding right now?
Good that you clarified that :D
You could also look at it like, you were conditioned to think that procrastinating/being unproductive is a bad thing. In the end, it could be that the things you do while procrastinating are the things you actually want, and the other stuff is just stuff that you think you're supposed to do.
Of course, you know yourself best. But for me, once I started seeing the procrastination activities as the actual activities I want to do, I really just stopped doing most of the other stuff, and now I'm entirely unproductive, not doing anything much, and I'm the happiest I've ever been.
If all those people that have money to build houses were forced to give it away (taxes), we the people (the government) could just build the houses and not charge exorbitant rent.
Almost always something "bad" happens though, someone is harmed... Someone rapes, you jail that person -> the rapist is harmed. Is it a bad process? Of course not.
It's not about not harming anyone, it's about harming the right people. Who we harm in what case is what almost all political discourse is about.
