There should be no restrictions on freedom of thought. Simple reason: One cannot control their thoughts.

I think speech and expression should be limited in ways that prevent negative outcomes for individuals or populations of people based on immutable characteristics like sexuality, skin colour, ethnic background, etc.

I can see no reason why anyone should ever be allowed to use free speech to incite violence, or expressing oneself in a way that is destructive to others. There should be no reason why we allow people to target others with slurs.

There are already laws restricting speech and expression in numerous ways. For example: one cannot utter threats to another person, even though they are not physically doing anything and operating with "free speech".

If one cannot speak or express themselves without hurting others I see no reason why that should be tolerated in modern civilizations.

Just be sure to keep a back up copy of the original v3 version. There is no going back once you switch it over!

It is such a great program! I even got my partner working with it and she loves it. haha

Good luck with vector art! And with your project!

Not my argument to defend so I won't.

The idea that news transport ideologies that need to be evened out is flawed from the get-go.

News must be factual and free of ideology. If you consume news that carry a bias (either way) then it is time to find other news sources.

Yes, it is flawed from start because it is supposed to be News. Yes it must be factual and free of ideology to accomplish the goal of informing people about the facts.

Unfortunately humans are inherently biased, and it isn't as easy as you are making it seem to drop trust worthy sources with some bias in favour of other factual sources without bias in the current climate.

Never said “never” but it’s certainly not a very large amount compared to illegal weapons.

Legal firearms and licensed firearm owners are not the problem in Canada and never have been; smuggling weapons out of the US to known criminals is where the issue lies, and where the violence comes from.

I would recommend a rephrase of your argument then, because you clearly said legal weapons and owners are not the problem and never have been.

My suggestion:

"Legal firearms and licensed firearm owners make up a small percentage of violent crimes using firearms in Canada; Smuggling illegal weapons into Canada makes up a larger percentage of violent crimes using firearms, and the priority should be increased border enforcement."

I’ve bowhunted, it’s a pain in the ass for providing food and frankly, I’m not in it for the thrill of the chase. I’m feeding myself and my family.

There are ways to feed your family without hunting. I don't find "I am not good at bow hunting" to be a solid argument in support of firearms being necessary. This is because hunting isn't necessary.

And if they got them banned, they’d have to actually find a productive job.

Who is they?

What causes you to believe that Legal Firearms are never used by a Licensed firearm owner in a problematic way?

Do you believe that 100% of illegal firearms in Canada are smuggled?

But hunters, collectors and competitors get to pay the price for these groups to keep the gravy train going that keeps them employed.

Have you considered that we do not need firearms for hunting, do not need to collect very dangerous weapons, and that firearm competitions are incredibly wasteful because of the resources needed to create firearms, bullets, targets, and the like?

If they ever managed to get all firearms banned, they’d have a very bad day.

What do you mean by this?

What do people get out of reading “both sides” (or all sides) of editorialized news? Specifically compared to just reading the facts of the situation.

For me it is about knowing what potential rhetoric and falsehoods are being spread outside of simply what the facts are.

I find this important because many people who are discussing "facts" that they have read in editorialized articles, with editorializing being a widespread and dangerous issue, are usually also pushing the narrative of the article. It is helpful for me to know how the facts are being spun in order to have a productive discussion because I can prepare for the rhetoric, and try to keep it on the facts.

What? What is the IDF doing other than oppressing Palestinians? That’s literally their whole thing. Israel has sent hundreds of thousands of soldiers in Gaza whose whole purpose is to kill and displace Palestinians, not to mention their operations and enforcement of Apartheid in the West Bank. There is no way to be an innocent IDF soldier., because everything they do is evil.

I would highly recommend you look up what "Conscription" is, and the consequences of avoiding service.

Well there’s nothing can Palestinians can do to stop Israel except violence.

One can clearly see that violence is not benefiting Palestinians, Israelis, Iranians, Lebanese, Syrians, or any other people involved in this.

Thank you for the time and opinion!

Probably going to do a little more digging before I make a decision, and I appreciate your help.

I have a low end ASUS laptop ($450 range) that I bought about 5ish years ago and it runs Godot 4 perfectly for me. My partner has an older Lenovo Ideapad and she cannot run the game I made. Your worry is justified. lol But I don't think it would hurt to test it out. Worst case, you delete and go back to 3, best case is 4 is pretty awesome and has a lot more functionality than 3.

I am not the one to speak to about export templates unfortunately, as I have only ever exported once to be compatible with my system. It was incredibly easy to choose which template I wanted though, so you shouldn't need to be to savvy to figure it out! :)

Also, if you haven't found it yet, I would recommend Pixelorama if you are into making pixel art games. It was made with Godot, and it is awesome. I animated my entire game with it, and it is super user friendly.

What kind of push back have you been seeing? I haven't seen any myself and you aren't the first to bring it up so If you can point me anywhere that would be helpful!

I am okay at doing that myself as well, but it is more of a time issue than a skill issue for me. I spend too much time trying to keep up with the news I find important. haha

That sounds like a very good use for it, especially considering how horrible being glued to Fox is. I wish your Mom well and hopefully it can help pull her partner out of the Fox sphere!
