I'm not even close to an expert, but from what I have heard, matrix collects quite a bit of metadata depending on the server you are using/federating with.

It's been almost a year since I checked it out, but I had a lot of issues with jellyfin compared to plex. Mainly transcoding would never work, so streaming outside of my local network never worked well.

As someone who spent a lot of time learning html/css and wordpress to get a site i'm ok with, but not thrilled.

I'd say skip wordpress. I think it's overkill for a portfolio. Mine is just a personal blog, and i'm about to sign up for the $9 a month Ghost Pro hosting with a free theme. I'm over the plugins and getting nickel and dimed for features.

Like others have mentioned, a static site generator may be good too.

Also, it isn't open source, but i really like blot.im. I use it for Obsidian.md instead of the built-in publish because it's a lot cheaper, and it's close enough in appearance/quality.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like I was wrong. Blot.im appears to be open source too.

Yea, I have extreme fomo when it comes to hobbies, so i inevitable "have" to upgrade. I think it's better I stick to my coffee. But, it's nice to know I can start lower if I ever change my mind.

I've purposely avoided getting into espresso because my wife already thinks i'm crazy for wanting to spend $6-700 on a new grinder and drip machine when our current ones "work fine".

I was having a hard time anyway, but after reading through all the comments, I don't think I could narrow it down.

If I had to try, it would be, in no particular order:

The Matrix

Princess Bride

Fight Club

Shawshank Redemption

The Boondock Saints

The Incredibles

...

Actually, I can't narrow it down....lol

My wife made me watch it one day, and I've lost count of how many times we have seen it since.

My wife and I have been working our way through Studio Ghibli movies for the first time. So far we have seen Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Kiki's Delivery service. Thoroughly enjoyed them all, but i'd say Spirited Away was me least favorite so far.

Not sure exactly why, but I feel like all 3 of them could have benefitted from some extra runtime. Parts just feel rushed to me. Or maybe I just don't want them to end. Lol

Every time I see Jurassic Park, i'm amazed how well the effects hold up. Just such a great movie all around.

I've been listening to Cary Elwes' book "As You Wish" on audiobook. I haven't finished it yet, but i'm loving it so far.

Stardust is way better than the premise would lead someone to believe. Such a good movie. Although, every time I watch it, I end up having to watch Princess Bride too.

I already wanted a Steam Deck, but was saving up for one of the higher tiers. Then I found out how relatively easy it is to buy the cheap one and add an nvme drive. So, now my savings goal is a lot closer.

EDIT: Fixed some typos
