Not encrypted and based in Australia (!)
That's probably the worst option
Mailbox.org + Guard
Does that actually encrypt incoming email server-side before storing it in your inbox? If not, it's not at all comparable to Proton or Tuta. Traditional opt-in PGP works with any email provider, yes, even Gmail, but it's nearly useless, since almost no one uses it.
Better idea: Use Tuta and always have the encryption. Recommending unencrypted email services in 2025 feels like a bad joke to me.
It's not encrypted. You can't compare that to Proton or Tuta.
Really, unencrypted email in 2025? Feels like a bad joke.
Not encrypted
If there's a big enough community outrage and if enough people cancel their plans because of this, he will be forced to step down, in order to save the face of the company.
Firefox Relay seems like a good, free choice?
Honestly, no. With the recent changes to Mozilla's leadership, you never know which service is being shut down next. Relay also only offers a very limited free plan. I'd recommend checking out addy.io instead.
The first nuanced comment in this entire thread. Thank you.
Welcome back to the 1600s
I mean you can use an SMTP gateway, but that kinda defeats the purpose, since they can read your emails, and you are still dependent on that service. Finding a good and trustworthy, encrypted email provider is probably easier. Don't forget that you can still use a custom domain.
Use AirVPN then, or get a seedbox
