I had an honest to God reasonable discussion with a very conservative Christian man. We talked and I told him about the major problems I see today (this was before the current demonization of LGBT). Each one, like gun violence, I asked what proposed solutions the right-wing had and he conceded that every position they had was reactionary to a proposed solution by the left. I basically told the guy that I'll vote for the group that has some kind of solution, even a less than ideal solution.

I have a lot of respect for that guy. I don't think his position has changed but his willingness to hear me out was refreshing.

Not me. I know binary. There are 10 types of people.

And it did. It started with coaxial. The fact that ethernet is now largely used in conjunction with UTP or STP doesn't add much when talking about the Ethernet protocol itself.

To be pedantic: Ethernet is a protocol so mentioning the medium used outside of a historical context is kinda irrelevant.

They self identify as feminists? Where? I couldn't find it in the article.

How it actually works is that the IRS doesn't known how much you need to pay. You provide your income and taxes already paid throughout the year then the IRS says "yeah, looks about right for what you made" or here's money back you paid to much or didn't pay enough. It only gets complicated when you have huge amounts of money.

Tinfoil hat time: they do know. They are attempting to normalize the U.S. model in Europe to drive down labor costs.

It sounds to me, that the issue is less with people reading, the article mentions that people do read, and more to do with a lack of critical thought about what is being read.

Tbh unless the source is Reuters or APnews, I do tend to look at the comments for a factual summary of the article.

I just want the facts, not some websites shifty analysis interlaced with loaded language.

But what about if Mercury is in retrograde?

It's like the crime version of Buy, Borrow, Die.
