Modern LED bulbs tend to overdrive the LEDs to a point where they last about as long as incandescent bulbs in my experience. It also allows them to use fewer LEDs, driving cost down. They could last so much longer...

I do like to buy high power ones (100W equivalent ones), open them, and lower the drive current by increasing the driver shunt's resistance. I haven't had a single one of those fail. (Don't do this unless you're a professional, mains power stuff can be fatal!)

It's not a loss if they never made the money in the first place.

You get a circular voltage gradient away from the strike spot. A human with their two legs doesn't spread along that as far as a deer's four legs do, so they catch more voltage drop across that, which also runs through their body (along their heart etc). It just depends a lot on how and where a body is affected by electricity.

I love how you can see the trees through the little water droplets.

I always like to put stuff back in the right spot in store shelves, and fix it if I notice something misplaced or fallen down. It's just a small thing for me to do, but I know I take a little annoyance out of someone's workday.

I wonder how many nukes are gonna disappear.

I like to lay on my side in bed and read, and my cat will snuggle up in front of me. Often I'll later flip around, and we'll have each others' back.

I tend to flip around a lot before falling asleep, so she'll usually go lay at my feet (preferably on my blanket), but she's good as long as she's close.

Don't cats have a protective instinct as well, where they face away from one while being comfy together?

I found this on it; still need to read through it. Some sort of lithium battery technology, it seems.

They ought to force them to put photos of where the eggs came from on the packaging, like with cigarettes. Photos of the actual plant/range/etc. Might make people consider not picking the cheapest option.

3rd party Senseo pads are a godsend; good easy fast coffee with a paper filtered coffee pad that just decomposes. I'm sad that it didn't work out over Keurig.

I've made myself a gcode file that is just several tracks of skirt going around the bed several times. Works like a charm for leveling for me, and it's fun to peel off after the nozzle.
