Seeing 'Stress' by Jim's Big Ego on there makes me want to listen to all of that, because I'm also a Jim Stephanie Sterling fan. I'll get to it.
I just turned 56 and through this community and Spotify discovery lists I've found so many new favourite artists. I've been spending my Saturday afternoon going through this community's posts and being generally impressed. I FUCKING LOVE FINDING NEW MUSIC. The worst thing is there's not enough time in the day to listen to it all.
Amazing. I'm now listening to that whole album.
I like it, but the vocalist need to be more prominent in the mix. She's getting a bit drowned out.
That's several kinds of brilliant. What a voice!
That video is a trip. Nice.
I wonder if that woke him up.
Honestly, I don't have a problem with trite lyrics. Some of my most favourite songs are pretty trite. I've long desired to be a songwriter, but the reason I haven't is because I don't think I could accept putting out anything trite. The difference is, that no matter how trite the actual words or meaning are, lyrics produced by actual human artists have a rhythm and flow that can't be matched by machinery, or even cynical human music industry producers.
If there are more arseholes than non-arseholes, then the arseholes are the 'normal' people. That's why I stay inside. I'm also trying reconcile with myself the possibility that I'm also an arsehole, just the wrong sort of arsehole.
That smug grin makes me unreasonably angry every time I see it. That's a face that hasn't been punched nearly enough.
