It isn't?

EDIT: After some searching, turns out it is not.

What kind of a moron would spend £3000 on something that then needs a subscription to work?

Would have been 1998 at school. Can't remember what the very first thing I accessed was, probably something educational we were instructed to. We got it at home the following year. I remember downloading my first MP3s from Slipknot's website around then and spending time in its chatroom. Then I read about Napster in a magazine and gave it a go. We only had the internet at home for a year or two. I had to use it at school and later college or the library after that. But I did have my own website from 2002 - 2005. I remember switching between both Google video and YouTube when they first started. Didn't get the internet at home again until 2006, first smartphone in 2010.

As you suggested I used to do this when distro hopping on my old HP Elitebook that needed Realtek WiFi drivers to be installed manually most of the time.

*How exactly does one suck a fuck? * By installing Windows of course.

I had a similar experience once. Heard a yowling screech that suggested a fight going on in my back street. Went out and saw my cat sitting at the end of my wall looking into the street. Opened the gate and two cats were in the middle with a bunch of other cats sat on the walls around like feline fight club. All of their glowing eyes looked at me at the same time. I just picked up my cat and brought him inside.

...my Google Photos include 20+ years of memories with me and my family that I am petrified of losing.

Yea I feel bad for the guy but there's been stories of similar things happening for years. If you're tech savvy enough to produce videos then you're tech savvy enough to transfer pictures to multiple different cloud services and/ or USB drives.
