Brah, why are you so dull? :)
The Roottrees Are Dead are on my wishlist, promising to hear folks give good feedback in the wild.
For what it's worth, sales upon early access release (or even 1.0 release) is somewhat common in the indie scene.
I believe the goal is to try and convert as many wishlists into sales.
While that's true, I wouldn't consider the publisher's overall "ranking" to be a reflection of the developers' work. The publisher does have some releases (City Bus Manager, Rescue HQ - The Tycoon) which are very positive or mostly positive.
Too bad about the mixed early reviews, hopefully they will fix many of these issues in early access. Some seem (graphical glitches, pacing, on-boarding) relatively easy to solve. I do hope they will introduce more free-form building placement.
IMO the ability to make batch correction to tags (by the senior mod?) would be helpful for a cleaner tag experience.
That's what I assumed too. A solo dev isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if the core of the game is well fleshed out and they have unique ideas.
I've stopped buying Paradox games. I was a big fan of Colossal Order, the studio best known for the Cities: Skylines series. Before they got big with Skylines, they made the Cities in Motion public transportation management series. The first game in the series had a unique style and ambience and I loved the euro scenarios and cities. The 2nd one was a solid update, but lacked character; it was essentially a prototype for Cities: Skylines.
Both those games had many DLCs, but nothing like Cities: Skylines' 69 DLC releases. That's just too much, I would rather play one of the indie city-builders (e.g. Urbek City Builder) or the classics (Simcity 4, Simcity 3000).
Reach out to LW support, it was probably a mistake.
Do you know you are banned on Lemmy.world?
I can see your bside posts via Piefed, but not via Lemmy World.
I still mostly play V and IV, although I've been meaning to get into VI (have about 50 hours, but that's nothing for a game like Civilization).
gamers are spiteful by nature
It's funny but also somewhat true.
The mix of RTS, 4X, god game and even "detective work inspired by lore" sounds very appealing.
