Unless the fan has a separate battery back up (which would be very weird) then this should not matter if you enable ErP.

AFAIK enabling ErP will shut off power to all components when the computer is turned off. Good luck!

The bloody lights everyone is obsessed with nowadays caused me numerous nights of shit sleep. Some devices designed by companies who clearly think too much of themselves decided that they would keep their LEDs on despite the computer shutting down.

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, look for ErP in your BIOS/EFI and then turn it on/enable it.

Caveat: you won't be able to charge your USB devices using your PC USB ports while the PC is shutdown if you change this setting.

Thanks. Just installed a new OS and I'm still working out the kinks. I had that extension installed previously but because it just works in the background I didn't even think to re-install it.

Ah, yes. Truly, I cannot argue against this impeccable logic. I am swayed.

Couldn't even read the article. That website is cancer.

I feel kind of lame saying so, but I just use Kate for taking notes.

I only realised it was supposed to be for editing code when it gave me a debug error when I wrote something with parentheses (what do you mean there's an error in line 43!? That sentence makes perfect sense!)

product could be on market in five- to 10 years

For a laugh, I occasionally review the 'Market entry' column on the table in this article.

I've been hearing this '5-10 years' lark for '5-10 years' now.

The Teletubbies theme song was pretty cool.

I'm not opposed to either. I think of this a bit like procedural generation, except better.

I take posts like these as an opportunity to block people who spam Lemmy with stupid nonsense. I'm heartened to know I won't ever see a post by this person ever again.

Hi.

Does anyone know why is there a red cross on the icon here?

This device is a Corsair USB flash drive. I initially thought it may be because the data was corrupted as there were a couple of years where it remained unconnected and I know SSD does not like that. But I formatted the drive (ExFAT) and it still shows up with a red cross in Nemo file manager.

Any idea what this actually means?

Thanks for any insight.
