I love the lack of ads, but I suppose I could live with them as long as they were clearly distinguished from real user content. I hated those reddit ads that were from a reddit account and looked like just another post if you didn't pay attention to the flair.

I think it's worth keeping in mind that knowing how to code is only a portion of the skills required to create a game, the design aspect is an endless rabbit hole in itself.
I finally migrated to bitwarden a week ago after meaning to for months
Can you elaborate on how one could print bitcoins if they controlled 50% of the network?
oh, I also have to mention codewars. That site was absolutely instrumental in giving me the confidence that maybe I could actually learn this shit. The first kata I did was as simple as "convert the boolean to a string," but that was exactly what I needed! I also like how it's less corporate than leetcode.
I have two because Jerboa's "switch account" feature pretty much enticed me to make another account on programming.dev so I could more easily browse that instance's communities.
I hope Lemmy implements more cross-instance features, like being able to browse communities by their parent instance.
I'll probably still occasionally visit reddit because there are some subs I am in that are just such mature communities, they are still a useful resource.
That being said, I LOVE the old school web vibes of Lemmy. I love the lack of ads. I didn't realize how much I really missed the pre MAANG internet. It wasn't until Lemmy began to fill the void that I realized it was there, and it is so fucking exciting having some of that wild west energy back.
Make snake! See if you can get chat GPT to give you directions without giving you code to copy and paste. Feel in the blank spaces with googling and Ctrl+f in the docs.
I'm in a few beginner programmer discords and am a noob myself, having begun self teaching python in February. DM me and let's connect on discord!
The child should have bought 3 bottles of milk.
I deleted the official Reddit app and have only gone to r/tildes to check to see if they're offering invites again. I do hope to see a community to match learnprogramming and learnpython show up here.
I still use soulseek, been using it for nearly 20 years at this point
