Learned and use in which senses of the terms? ๐Ÿ˜œ

sorry, couldn't resist!Part of what I learned was to try to seek clarity in ideas before responding or elaborating, to minimize presumptions and try to provide relevant responses. Although often I still fumble about and respond clumsily and irrelevantly.

What do you think of corporations being able to persist almost indefinitely? As a part to introducing greater accountability, might dissolution be appropriate at times?

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Now that you mention it, I remember something similar! I may have to follow up on that to see (but I'm also curious of others' responses, hence asking).

It's been awhile since I've messed about with this, so I don't remember (and you may not either, so this is an open question), but wouldn't it produce the effect even if disconnected from an antenna?

If so...Would the same principle be in play of it picking up on general EM waves to cause the effect?

By tv static, I mean like this btw:

3D render of old tv set with animated static on its screen, as if tuned to a dead channel

Any indications yet of how this may compare to similar group features or focuses via Friendica and Mobilizon respectively?

Unrelated to the content, only to the format, but what odd iteration of Facebook(?) or its like is this from? Is this the mobile interface of FB these days?

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Thanks! I'll have to give it a look! I currently have Termux, but was wondering about others, although maybe I should have asked for Termux packages instead. ๐Ÿ˜…

I tried Micro briefly but its interface doesn't seem to have been as well adjusted for mobile.

I know, I know, but haven't you wanted to jot down some pseudocode while out and about, formatted neatly, so you could pop it over to your main machine to turn into working code?

Is there a less arcane way to perform searches similarly to regex?

No kiddin', name got me lookin' and Valid Without Photo as well as The Plan are right in line with the sorta sound I dig from Massive Attack and the like!

Similar/same vibe's all good in my book, so cheers!

Ya got armpits for arms, so legpits and finpits and wingpits?? TENTACLE PITS?!

Honestly asking 'cause I skimmed the communities but didn't see one and was left going, "how??"

In time travelers' utopian future phone calls are a viable means of communication, so they think they can help folks in the past via calling and don't understand why nobody answers!

Didn't think anybody'd get around to asking something here, huh? =P

y'know, that guy? they kinda dart around when you get near? they're always outside? kinda weird ngl but they don't bother anyone

one time i saw that guy, and they were all in black and white and i went, "oh hey" and they looked over at me and just went along their way as they do

But that guy wasn't that guy i'm asking about, okay? that guy was a different guy from that guy but i think they might know each other? that guy gets around, and so does that guy

Lemmy know if ya know that guy and that guy, and maybe even

big shit u ready?that guy.

thx

is miming even really French. Is France an elaborate mime trick?

Did Quebec actually found France as a front to legitimize themselves? How far do the lines go?

I could make them, but I'm not too interested in all the moderation responsibilities, and I've tried searching via Lemmyverse and have been kinda surprised to not find much. Might be using the wrong terms?

Poked about some shitpost comments, but I dunno, not exactly the vibe I'm after tbh.

Sports are a massive phenomena, to say the least, and esports definitely seems to want to try to become similar, but so far...I think it may be fair to say it's struggling at that, outside of maybe some specific games and countries (...Is StarCraft still a thing in South Korea?).

Do you think that might eventually change, and if so what might contribute to it being alongside regular sports in terms of conversations & attention?

I'd imagine it may work somewhat like it always has, but with some of the more technical jobs (say some web dev stuff) or the like, I'm not entirely clear on it.

What sort of job listings or openings or whathaveyou do freelancers typically keep an eye out for when on the hunt for new jobs? Also, depending on the country, how do they get by without whatever employer benefits may be provided (e.g. in the US this may generally be like health insurance and retirement-related stuff)?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding how the Show Context link is meant to work, but I would think when you click Show Context, it should show the comment being replied to so you can see the...Well, context.

Currently, at least on Lemm.ee, clicking Show Context does nothing. No parent comments are shown whatsoever, so the comment being viewed remains isolated & without context. The only way to see the context is to open all comments and search through for the comment you were linked to/saw and then read what it was replying to.

Are you able to just kind of socialize and get involved in stuff without as many second thoughts? Or make and share stuff with less of an imposter syndrome or whatever you might call it when you're uncomfortable being associated with your work?

Or is it like so many things, where it kind of depends on how things are going that day?

For some cases it's more obvious (e.g. dry skin tends to be flaky, oily might be, uh, shinier?), but when it's not to the extremes but also maybe not a mix, what's a decent rule of thumb to narrow it down?

Similar regarding sensitivity. A lot of skincare products market towards these conditions with the expectation that you'll know somehow, but it's not always so obvious, and a doctor's visit isn't always affordable (which is probably the best answer here, tbh, but let's suppose it's not a severe skin condition one's trying to identify).
