Any resources to pick this up that you can share?

The hard flat back gives your flesh something to press up against when pinching. Imagine pulling a hair out of your arm with your fingers. Easy, right? Now imagine pulling a hair out of your arm with your lips.

Are...Your fingers boneless? For awhile I kept my fingernails cut probably far too short and didn't have too much trouble pulling the occasional arm hairs. That said, point stands regarding picking up smaller stuff, and I appreciate the amusing visual and nail enthusiasm!

That's what inspired me to ask about this tbh. Unfortunately it's self-hosted, which feels like overkill to me for managing my personal bookmarks.

Thanks! However, Floccus is a syncing utility rather than a bookmark manager like I was requesting. Good tool though!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

What’s your purpose for doing so?

Curiosity, of course!

Could you provide an example image of the sort of tote bag you're mildly confused by?

In the case of children, isn't some of this on the parents involved as well? Have the parents of affected children talked to each other about it and reached out to the parents of the bullies to ask if they know their child's been bullying or however one might go about that conversation?

That said, Apple's certainly in the wrong in taking advantage of this, and in many ways it's no surprise. They're essentially a luxury brand, whose entire business model is exploiting this kind of behavior of social pressure and buying specific products to better fit into a group.

Not sure what you mean exactly by a classic style of typewriting [...]

Oh! Whoops, I think I meant to write "classic style of typing" there. Appreciate the pointers & reply! I'll have to look into mineral spirits, not familiar with those

I had been publishing articles on my own website since 2003, but I did that mostly manually by writing whole HTML pages.

Huh, so literally raw html? I know it's not too difficult, but I have wondered occasionally how many small websites may have been written that way.

Appreciate the reply! It's a cool way to view it in individual terms. I was thinking in more social terms, however, which I've been a little fascinated to find seems to be a little atypical from the replies so far.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

This does seem to come closer to what I was wondering about when I originally posted, good eye!

OP asks the real life equivalent of being AFK which, assuming you’re normally regularly online, only really corresponds to being high or sleeping.

The funny thing is, it didn't occur to me how vague my question was until after I posted and started seeing the replies. That's made it more fun tbh, and interesting as in this context (online vs. in real life) I've not really thought of being online in such individualistic terms as this and some other replies suggest.

Not looking for me personally, so leaving the specs/features open, and generally interested in what people might recommend.

Imo there's almost always some surprising budget phones floating around to learn about. Only condition I might add is that preferably they're from 2022-2023, and if not, mention their release year to help know its version/update situation.

Sometimes I find myself shopping for things that I'd prefer to go out and get within the same day, but now I'd have to order and wait a few days to get...So I'm wondering what some of those things may be for you?

It seems like nearly every wristwatch I get, the common point of failure is the watch band, but when I try to find replacement bands, it's always sort of a hassle.

What do you think would finally be their, "Enough, we gotta say something!" situation?

Edit:
Put another way, what might serve as a cosmic icebreaker?

I've been using Feeder for awhile now, and have kind of dealt with it skipping around, but it's still bothering me and I'm not sure if it may be something I'm doing wrong.

I've set it so I'm manually syncing my feeds instead of having it do so at regular intervals, in case that may have been the cause.

I'm not holding my phone in a way that I may be touching the sides of the screen and causing it to misread input (so far as I can tell).

I've tried returning to the feed both via the app's back button and the system back button, with both returning me to a different position in the feed (either up to new articles or down to older ones).

Is it like a rough inference of what's being said based on mouth movements, or is it more precise somehow? Would it be a mistake to think you knew exactly what was said by reading lips (even if you were good at it)?

Doesn't have to be a YouTube series or documentary/reality-style show btw, more produced stuff like Ghostbusters would be fun too. Also open to books or the like.

Didn't see another community for sharing new communities around here (as in, Sopuli), so thought a meme would be a fun way to introduce one!

Like something and want to ask around to find something else like it? That's a space to do so!

A community for seeking suggestions and recommendations of what else you might like based on your existing interests and tastes.

Tools, software, books, music, games, tv/movies, whatever else may spring to mind, feel free to ask about similar or related stuff to it here.

Welcome! LikeThisMayLike, or Like This? You May Like is a community inspired by the classic recommendation form of, "If you liked this, you may like...", which in turn inspired the Reddit community, If You Like Blank, and in turn inspired me to post this question over in [email protected].

Seeing the response from that thread, I thought a similar community here might be appreciated, especially without some of the awkward post formatting requirements and, imo, name of the subreddit.

Speaking of, posts here don't need to be formatted/abbreviated as, "[IIL] subject, WEWIL?" Translation there being: if I like subject, what else would I like?

They also don't need to be formatted as, "If I like blueberries, what else might I like?" You can write your questions however they come to you so long as they fit the spirit of the community.

Best of luck in your questions!

If you have any questions/concerns, let me know below!

Edit:
Making a slight adjustment to invite more activity here. Although you could before, I want to make it clear that you may make suggestion/recommendation posts here as long as they indicate the connection/relationship of the things, e.g. "If you like peanut butter sandwiches, you might love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, like holy shit!" or drawing from my recent thread, "If you enjoy Massive Attack, you might also like Sneaker Pimps!"
