Ah, yes, let's just pre-emptively censor everything to appease the right-wing lunatics who crave a return to the American 1950s that exists only in their fucking minds, to the good old day of God and Family and Women in their Proper Place and No Queers and No Blacks and No Hispanics and No Autists and No Mentally Ill and No Homeless only Good White Christian Families doing Good White Christian things.

The cisheteropatriarchy is never going to accept people who do not adhere to it's unachievable horrendous norms, no matter how clean and pure and pre-censored everything is. Pornographic material is always the canary in the fucking coal mine, and this was a direct attack on literally the least harmful form of pornographic material that has none of the fucking issues with exploitation and coercion as live-action porn - nobody is hurt by pornographic video games! People like you just refuse to give up the position of Morality Police making sure that all artistic and cultural products stay within your lanes of 'culturally acceptable' - you fundamentally agree with fascists like these people, you just nitpick the details.

I do give Cuba props, they have done a great job of combating the reactionary social positions of their population over the last few decades, and their legal rights are very extensive. Vietnam and Laos are doing the bare minimum, and do not impress me in the slightest.

This is ultimately the problem I have - I do not want queer and nuerodiverse people to have to sit and beg cishet nuerotypicals to pretty please give us rights please and thank you, that is a horrible position to be in even if the rights are given and it is the one we will always be in unless we can somehow achieve actual autonomy.

I am very much aware of that. I am speaking of the present, I don't really care about what happened hundreds of years ago on this issue - and frankly people have a habit of being very rosy about those 'socially acceptable positions', they still far more often than not forced non-conformative individuals out to the fringes of society, or they provided a few acceptable boxes that one would still be shunned and scorned for acting outside of.

I am interested in liberation, not the expansion in the available amount of 'socially acceptable positions', I want the dissolution of the concept of a 'socially acceptable position'.

Not necessarily, but there are probably about as many difficulties in state socialist governments like that as there are in capitalist ones, yes, the situation is really not that much better. I am personally skeptical of this because I'm horribly burnt out on cishetero-nuerotypicals in general, but in theory under proper stateless communism queer/neurodiverse people should hopefully be able to find each other and make their own communities that are not subject to the rules and arbitrary cultural norms of the cishet-nuerotypical communities around them. For so long as there is a state that is enforcing cultural norms, however, there are still going to be massive problems with achieving the liberation of LGBT and nuerodiverse people, yes, I think that is true.

I do think to some degree individualism, for all it's many, many, many faults, is better on this one specific issue because of it's greater focus on the needs and desires of the discrete individuals instead of those of the 'community'. There is a reason, I think, that the enclaves of greatest queer/nuerodiverse safety are all in the west, and it's not some myth of progress idea that people just inherently become more socially libertine the richer they are - it is because the West is much more individualistic and atomized, so people are, in a lot of places, much less concerned with whatever the fuck other people are doing and generally less inclined to shunning, for both better and worse. Even these enclaves are obviously under massive threat right now, of course - as said, Capitalist states aren't really any better, the problems are just different.

I think this all just boils down to the fact that ultimately, there will be no liberation for Queer and Nuerodiverse people for so long as we live under the dominion of cishet and neurotypicals people. Whether that dominion uses red flags or not is irrelevant - we need to be able to have our own autonomous communities without the authority of cishetero-nuerotypicals hanging over our heads for acceptance of our abnormal behavior to be anything but tenuous and conditional on varying degrees of assimilation.

It's rather simple: there is absolutely nothing in Marxist-Leninist or Maoist or whatever statist communist theory that actually requires them to be socially libertine in any way. You can implement Marxist-Leninist theory, for example, perfectly well while still being deeply socially conservative on issues that do not have to do with the general labour rights of the population - Feminism to some degree is required because that has to deal with rights to labour, and AES states need women to work for much the same reason Capitalist states need women to work, to increase productivity, and doing that generally requires confronting (to some degree) the sexism and misogyny of their population.

That does not require in any sense queer rights, sexual liberation, generally the right to live one's life in the way one wants so long as it is not harming others, etc - indeed, given the increased focus on the 'collective' and on the 'community' there is if anything even more incentive for these states to promote and push the social norms that already exist in the population, which have almost invariably been quite socially conservative and scornful of behavior that is seen as disgusting or outside-the-norm, as tends to be the case in most human cultures in general. Simple as that, in my opinion.

Those 1% would've likely done it anyway, with or without the game. It also needs to be said that the vast majority of cis men who go on to sexually assault people aren't playing porn video games anyway, they're incredibly niche and in my experience are played by a roughly 50/50 split of archetypal mentally disabled people who aren't going out enough to sexually assault anyone (like myself in the past) and queer people. The choking problem doesn't come from porn video games, it comes from the intensely exploitative live-action porn industry, which is not in any way comparable to video games or any other type of animated pornography.

In my experience the majority of people who engage with rpe-kink (god I hate the filtering here) are rpe-victims, such as myself. It is a way of processing and reclaiming the trauma, and rendering the idea of r*pe so fuckin taboo that it cannot be processed and dealt with through kink is horrible practice that does nothing but make the lives of many victims a lot harder. Speaking from experience.

There's nothing wrong with having a kink for SA anyway, which is the target market of games like that. 99% of the people who play those games aren't going to turn around and go and sexually assault someone, this is the same logic as claiming that video games cause violence when they demonstrably do not.

Oh, fuck off. Schizophrenic people are almost never violent against anyone but themselves - advocating for the forced imprisonment of schizophrenic people in any context is completely unacceptable behavior for anyone who wants to call themselves a communist.

There's no need to hero worship this guy. It's not like his actions actually accomplished anything anyway. Adventurism is bad, and I'm not shocked that this guy had idiotic positions on ableism and nuerodivergency.

This is not true - allistic people are in fact real. The 'Autism spectrum' only refers to differing severity of various 'symptoms' in specific individuals, as each autistic person is unique. That term was never meant to imply that 'we're all a little bit autistic' or whatever, that is simply categorically false, Autistic people are a distinct nuerotype from Allistic people, and that material and psychological distinction is the reason for our social oppression by allistics.

Read the article challenge:

This happened when he left Interplay, it has nothing to do with Bethesda. Not that I am a fan of their treatment of Fallout in the slightest, but this kind of thing is standard industry practice, not 'vindictiveness' on the part of Bethesda.

In fairness, the headline is very misleading, makes it seem like he's not talking about like 20 year old events.

The point im trying to make is that there probably aren't a lot of serious atheists who go on to convert to religion; its a cognitive step that, once made, is hard to take back.

As a former serious Atheist who could currently be described as religious, I can confirm that this is true - I do not think I have ever met anyone else who went from Atheist to Theist. In my case, it required - as you said regarding the Liberal to Communist transition - further information about the world that I lacked when I was an Atheist. Granted, I am somewhat unusual in this respect, as I was raised as an Atheist unlike most in America but - even still, it required what I perceived as hard evidence that there was more than just the material. Of course, this perceived hard evidence came in the form of personal experiences that I cannot transmit to others, as typically seems to be the case with this stuff, for better or worse.

This often also seems to be the case for the Liberal to Communist transition - I'm not sure I've ever seen someone actually be successfully convinced through rhetoric alone - it always requires some kind of personal experience that provides a bedrock of hard evidence that their current beliefs are inadequate for understanding and navigating the world in which they exist. After that bedrock exists - then rhetoric and reading and all that can have a meaningful effect.

Dragon Ball Online did a lot of this stuff - Toryiama actually wrote the plot outline for it, it was set several hundred years in the future, featuring ancient Piccolo and Master Roshi still being around and stuff like that, and Dende, but otherwise all new people besides occasional exceptions for the time-travel heavy main plot - but gameplay wise it was very much the typical MMO.
