Was it a little cube? A Taiwanese exchange student once gave me a few "fish-tidbits". Holy shit those things were the fishiest things I've ever tasted. Just concentrated chum bucket, instant bad breath. I'm sure that cats would love them, but I'm still not convinced that she wasn't pulling my leg giving me a cat treat or what was essentially a bouillon cube and calling it "candy".

I'm upvoting you not because I agree (I don't, I love black licorice), but because you touch on a good point that if someone doesn't like black licorice, they're probably not going to like any black licorice regardless of quality. Maybe there's some exceptions out there that like bougie black licorice and not the basic twizzlers stuff, but anecdotally I've tried introducing the fancier brands to a few friends who don't like black licorice, and not one has given a single fuck.

Hell why stop with every minority group combined? Throw the majority group in there too, now everybody's on the same side! Why didn't I think of this sooner??

I like spicy food now and then, I like spicy bbq and can take any Mexican you can throw at me. But Thai food scares me. Every time I try it, they ask how spicy I want it on a scale of 0 to 10, and I go "you know, I think I'll take it easy today, I'll go for a 4". And then I get the bowl, first few slerps are pretty chill, but after a solid minute it out of nowhere turns into the spiciest thing I've ever fucking tasted, without fail. I'm simply not worthy of Thai food

I thought that they were managing that stuff on a per-pixel basis, no engine, assets, or other abstractions, just raw-dogging pixel colors.

And before I even played video games at all I was watching somebody play some assassin's creed game I think and I thought the player had to control every single limb qwop-style.

Make sure to watch the video in the article. The song legitimately kicks ass

Like the title says? There's a lot more granularity choosing bigger fonts than smaller. Thanks and congratulations on going open-source!

This is my favorite version of the song. I also saw that this video had some cool footage of some of the civil rights protests but it cuts out some solos :/

TL;DR if the Roku app is failing to play back some videos recently, try turning on "Text Subtitles Only" in playback settings

So I'd been having this issue where certain videos would fail to playback in the Roku player (but only on Roku, playing from the Android app, the browser, or directly all worked). The video would get stuck buffering at 33%, but after a minute or so it'd finally stop with "There was an error retrieving the data for this item from the server". Transcoding issue? I'd been trying to figure this issue out for a few hours over the course of a few days. I don't recall having this issue before mid-December, and as I learned today apparently there was a big update to the Roku app.

Anyway, my first real clue was using "ffmpeg -i video.mp4" to compare the codecs of a known working video and a not working video. The non-working video was showing an issues with subtitles. So after poking around in the Roku client's settings I saw the "Text Subtitles Only" option in playback settings, and enabling it worked!

Hopefully someone sees this and it saves them a headache. I had to postpone my personal movie night like three times trying to figure this out

Pretty much title. Sometimes I want to see new content, sometimes I want to go back and look at old content. It's a little exhausting having to jump into settings to hit that toggle, and it would be really cool if we could switch it from the top bar or in the three-dot menu in the top bar

Scrolling down hides them, scrolling up they come back. I like being able to see more content at a time, it'll make the app feel less claustrophobic.

Infinity for reddit used to vibrate briefly when comment chains were minimized (same way, press and hold). I got really used to that feedback.

Also related, but an option to disable the animation for minimizing comment chains would be cool. The slide is kind of disorienting to me
