It's not an increasingly mainstream view, it is the mainstream view and has been for a while. I wouldn't be shocked if California invented the idea of hostile infrastructure. The way people talk about the homeless out here is completely insane.

Was about to say, this is the default position for every major city in America
Brooke Jenkins is who Mayor London Breed appointed after Chesa Boudin was recalled last year. Breed & Jenkins are awful, and San Francisco isn’t nearly as progressive as it pretends to be, as evidenced by their recall of Boudin.
Boudin descends from a long left-wing lineage. His great-grand-uncle, Louis B. Boudin, was a Marxist theoretician and author of a two-volume history of the Supreme Court's influence on American government, and his grandfather Leonard Boudin was an attorney who represented controversial clients, such as Fidel Castro and Paul Robeson. His uncle Michael Boudin was a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and his grand-uncle Isidor Feinstein Stone ("I. F. Stone") was an independent progressive journalist.
there was an incredibly pervasive campaign for that recall. I happened to visit during it and they were everywhere. Also yeah, sf is very liberal but not especially left wing, at least not the people that vote in local elections and can afford a permanent address in SF proper
Yeah I live there. The coordinated money & effort put into ousting him was enormous. There was nothing grassroots about it.
Someone should eat too many twinkies and do a thing
Eat Twinkies, do thing.
She should join forces with Haz and the other MAGA communists who think the homeless are landlords.
Yeah I am out here this week for work (come out quarterly) and it’s so sad.
