You know what the greatest absurdity is? Since he is Californian bourgeoisie royalty, Gavin actually knows where his bread is buttered, so he is really the driving force behind the normalization of U.S.-China relations, which is such an interesting analogy that the U.S. is basically a feudalist system masquerading as a democracy.
