When I first met one of my exes before, we somehow ended up on the topic of people like MLK and how he's been appropriated by capitalists even though they killed him. On impulse, I bastardized the the Lenin quote about revolutionaries being turned into harmless icons, and she responded with "Hey.. didn't Lenin say that?"
