Is there really a war in Ukraine? (lemmy.world)

When it first began, I saw it portrayed on the news like "oh by the way the war in Ukraine.. ". But I have a friend who thinks it's WW3 and "they" are keeping it from us.

In the past, it was easy to find combat footage of Afghanistan but I've only seen 1 video that was supposed to be Ukraine(which was questionable).

So yeah I'm curious about what people really think. Thanks
