Finding and recognising small wins is the key I think. It's easier to forget about a failure if there's a more recent success, even if both are very small.

My problem is I recognize the small win but then immediately realize that the fact is my life is so fucked up that I'm congratulating myself over such minor thing and start feeling shitty again.
