What the liberal fails to understand is that the power now lies in the leftist hands.

In 2016, it was unknown how bad trump could be.

In 2020, we were told "see, unless you want more of this, you better hold your nose, vote blue, and then we'll push left"

But in the past 4 year, much to the surprise of no one who's paid attention, there has only been a right-ward shift. So now, it's not "hey leftist, if you don't blue you get trump!", it's more like "he democrats, unless you actually shift left, you're getting more of trump"

The Democrats don't see themselves as having any real incentive to move substantially to the left on any points other than in terms of almost entirely superficial work-identity-politics marketing. They will continue to campaign for college-educated people on the basis on their supposedly greater social progressiveness, while making absolutely no concessions on positions regarding class, and which means that in concrete reality they will not deal with the socio-economic structures that allow and reinforce other socially reactionary practices. Not only that, but it will just lead to further radicalization of the far right as they increasingly delegitimize themselves. A part of me suspects that the real danger is the Republicans securely grabbing enough of a working-class base to make it difficult for Democrats to win an election again, which would make the Republicans more brazenly not give any fucks and pass legislation they would otherwise be more hesitant to pass given the risk of alienating voters.

Like seriously who is gunna march and knock on doors for Biden other than the most depraved, gentrifying, condo-sniffing PMCs and trust-fund kid liberals?

I wonder how many of these lib scolds are phonebanking or canvassing for Genocide Joe.

Being annoying on the Internet is not praxis. If they were truly committed, they would be knocking on doors and volunteering for the campaign.

But they don't give a shit, they just want to feel morally superior. Their goal is not to convince other people to vote for Biden. Their goal is to convince themselves that they are still the good guys even while voting for genocide.

I'm aware of stonetoss and Shaun. What's the specific beef this is referencing?

[–] [email protected] 25 points 2 years ago

I don’t think it’s anything between Shaun and the rock throwing Nazi. They’re just using the pebble yeet comic as the base meme to make their point, because unfortunately that mineral chuck comic has become a meme unknowingly used by others.

Rather, they are using the boulder catapult comic to say that Shaun’s aversion to voting for genocide supporters is actually just meant to support Republicans.

Should I vote for Genocide or Super Genocide? Or just life quit and let you all deal with it?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 years ago (6 children)

the point isnt to get trump to win, it's to pressure biden into stop supporting genocide if he wants to win - like, at least for me in the UK despite gritting my teeth and voting for that prick Starmer last time as harm reduction im not going to vote for him again unless he changes his policy suggestion to reflect the reality that only 9% of the labour voting base support his zionism. If he actually ran on a platform of suggesting a ceasefire and calling for a return to the 1967 voting borders i would happily continue voting for him every year until he left because he would have done one very good thing, as it is though, im withdrawing my vote until he's actually forced to do something.

to pressure biden into stop supporting genocide if he wants to win -

No, the point is to threaten to reject electoralism and show the rest of the US population how farcical it is, and to show that there is a large number of people not buying into this syatem or its propaganda. If you don't vote for president this election and then vote again in the next one, they were right and you're really a pathetic cowed-and-beaten loyal subject.

ewwww pebble throw

he literally said people have a moral obligation to not vote for Biden

chat did he say this, it seems to me that only democratic party insiders are the ones framing this in moral terms. conditioning your vote is really the only avenue you have (if you choose to stick to the electoral apparatus) to actually influence the agenda. do they know dems compromise with republicans all the time? if you forsake what little input you actually have and keep giving democrats carte blanche in every single election, you are pretty much just voting for the same republican agenda with a delayed timelapse for its execution.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 years ago

He actually did use the term "moral obligation" tvf

If liberals believe the lesser evil should always be supported, they should be demanding that Joe Biden arm Hamas with nukes and aircraft carriers

Count the bodies, you can't tell me Hamas isn't less evil than the Zionist entity
