Advance 2 is great

You set up retroarch no half-measures for Sonic Advance 2

You'll probably want Dolphin standalone for Colors though or maybe the PC port that I genuinely know nothing about other than I think people were disappointed with some model lighting changes or something.

I'd probably do the PC port.

My favorite is Adventure 2, but I'm curious what you'd say about Sonic CD

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

Seriously Sonic CD is great, but you have to understand where the game was coming from and how you should play it.

You once saved a franchise by making it go back to it's roots.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

Only for the original creators to go right back to the bottom of the well three months later.

What if my favorite is S&K with The Ooze plugged into the top of it for the special stages?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 years ago (2 children)
[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 years ago

The Ooze is a Sega Technical Institute US game. Inthink Sony president Mark Cerny worked on it. I gues plugging it in the special S&K cartridge grants binus stages.

yeah me too because that game was hard as fuck
spoiler it was another Genesis game plugging any non-Sonic game into S&K would generate some of those 3D "blue orb" special stages for you to play :::

Knuckles' Chaotix is goated.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 years ago

Sonic Adventure: Your dream game is a Sonic RPG.

Too bad the Sonic Bioware game is mid lol

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

There's a Sonic Bioware game???

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

What about Sonic Battle on the GBA?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

In only one of these can I hear Shadow declare, "Now I am the most powerful hedgehog in the universe!"

What would Ken Pender's favorite sonic game be?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Probably Sonic 2 since those were the only Sonic comics I'd ever seen as a kid. I really should read those someday.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

Only read them if you're ready for a true cringefest. The comic can be good, but Ken Penders didn't add to the good

This channel has done a good series of videos on them if you dont want to slog through all of it: https://youtu.be/v4lKmXz0j7Q?feature=shared Archie Sonic is honestly a really weird and fascinating corner of 90s pop culture

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Sonic Triple Trouble (which introduced Nack the Weasel, who I believe got renamed to Fang the Sniper because SEGA isn't sure who owns the original name anymore)

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I've never played a Sonic but I love the "Escape from the City" song, so whichever has that banger.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

But what if my favorite Sonic game is Sanicball?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

This is Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine erasure. bean-think

Sonic 3: You love anime.

Fuck.

What about Sonic 3 and Knuckles?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Sonic CD. It's not even my really my favorite I'm just picking it to be mildly controversial. People see that choice and they're like, "huh, weird," but it's not one of the dark ages games so they will fall for my ruse.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Only one I've played was sonic colors
