Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

holding flashlight under face

Imagine a terrifying world where we are all ruled by monsters of every stripe. And not hot ones like werewolves, but instead decaying zombies and mummies who are both insensitive to, and actively benefit from the immense suffering they cause on a daily basis. The top echelon of society, filled with profit-seeking, bloodsucking vampires. And the worst of it is that they repeat on a daily basis that what they are doing is not only just, but there is no other possible way to do it.

Pretty spooky, right? What if I told you that this world... was our own?

Happy Halloween!

Friendly reminder: when commenting about a news event, especially something that just happened, please provide a source of some kind. While ideally this would be on nitter or archived, any source is preferable to none at all given.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.
More telegram channels here for those interested.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Last week's discussion post.

Apparently, Shani Louk, the girl that was at the festival and in the truck video and was eventually confirmed alive and being treated in Gaza, is dead.

I've found very little reliable information on it but it seems the Israeli foreign ministry contacted her mother to tell her they found a DNA-checked "skull fragment" suggesting she was dead since October 7th.

I have literally zero proof of this but I genuinely consider it likely the IDF killed her (most likely through bombings), found her subsequently, and are now lying as usual.

Al Jazeera said the Israeli strike in Jabaliya killed 19 family members of one of its video engineers, Mohamed Abu Al-Qumsan. Al-Qumsan’s father, two sisters, brother, two sisters-in-law, uncle and 12 nieces and nephews were killed in what the media outlet condemned as “heinous and indiscriminate Israeli bombing.”

Last week, the wife, son, daughter and infant grandson of Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief were slain in an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, where they had been sheltering.

Wikileaks https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/1719005698300813488

A week after the Hamas attack, Israel's Ministry of Intelligence issued a secret ten-page document outlining the expulsion of the Palestinian population of Gaza to northern Sinai, in Egypt:

  1. Instruct Palestinian civilians to vacate north Gaza ahead of land operations;
  2. Sequential land operations from north to south Gaza;
  3. Routes across Rafah to be left clear;
  4. Establish tent cities in northern Sinai and construct cities to resettle Palestinians in Egypt

The document has been verified by an official from the Ministry of Intelligence, according to the Hebrew website Mekomit which originally published the document. Mekomit noted that documents from the Ministry of Intelligence are advisory and not binding on the executive

I didn't think it was possible for me to hate Blinken more yet I still hate him more. And it can happen a few times in just one single day.

Blinken says it's shocking that October 7 Hamas attack "has receded so quickly in the memories of so many"

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called it "striking" and "shocking" that the brutality of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel "has receded so quickly in the memories of so many" during a news conference in Tel Aviv on Friday.

Blinken said today he viewed additional images and footage from the attack collected by the Israeli government.

“It remains almost beyond the human capacity to process, to digest,” he said.

Blinken, who appeared visibly shaken, described an example of additional video Israeli officials showed him today of the Hamas attack.

“I saw, for example, a family on a kibbutz, a father (of) two young boys — maybe 10, 11 years old — grabbing them, pulling them out of their living room, going through their very small backyard and into a shelter, followed seconds later by a terrorist who throws a grenade into that small shelter. And then as the father come staggering out, shoots him down. And then the boys come out, and they run into their house, and the camera in the house is filming everything. And they're crying. ‘Where's daddy?’ one says. The other says, ‘They killed daddy. Where's my mommy?’ And then the terrorists comes in, and casually opens the refrigerator and starts to eat from it,” Blinken said he saw in the video.

The top US diplomat expressed sympathy for the plight of Palestinians civilians as well, saying he sees his own children when he sees images of “Palestinian children, young boys and girls, pulled from the wreckage and buildings.”

“Hamas doesn't care one second or one iota for the welfare, for the well-being of the Palestinian people,” said Blinken. “It cynically and monstrously uses them as human shields, putting his commanders in command posts, its weapons and ammunition, within or beneath residential buildings, schools, mosques, hospitals.”

Blinken said that the US is still pressing Israel to minimize civilian casualties.

“We’ve provided Israel advice that only the best of friends can offer on how to minimize civilian deaths, while still achieving its objectives of finding and finishing Hamas terrorists and their infrastructure of violence,” he added.

Israeli forces cut off northern Gaza from rest of the enclave

There are reports that the Israeli forces are pushing deep into the northwestern parts of the Gaza Strip, namely the city of Beit Lahia, and from the northeastern side of the city of Beit Hanoun. In addition, there are movements from the southeast all the way to the west, cutting two major roads Salah al-Din Street and the coastal line of Rasheed Street.

The Israeli forces keep pushing deep from four different directions, squeezing the Gaza Strip. There are reports about intense fighting going on between the Israeli army and Palestinian groups in these areas, people being killed, more houses being destroyed and residents who could not flee caught in this war zone.

The road to the southern part has been shut, there’s no way for people to leave. Whoever is in northern Gaza will remain there.

maybe they can actually pull off this maneuver, but idk how well they'll be able to hold it

Imagining a scenario where as a half measure Israel is forced out of the West Bank and suddenly 600,000 fanatic settlers have to move into Israel proper. They'll instantly become hostile to the Israeli state and we'll get news about the IDF doing another crazy Waco incident every 5 days until the state collapses or the settlers nuke Iran.

Al-Houthi: We say to the Saudi regime:

If you head to those areas in occupied #Palestine to fight the entity, you will not need to repeat the same thing in #Yemen, and we are ready to hand over Sana’a to you so that you can live with us. There will be no harm between us and you when the compass points in the right direction of hostility to the usurping entity.

Is this significant? I'm not that familiar with regional issues and conflicts between these two.

Biden says progress made on ‘humanitarian pause’

US President Joe Biden says progress has been made on securing a so-called “humanitarian pause”.

When asked if any progress had been made on the issue, Biden replied “yes” as he left a church in Delaware and offered a thumbs up before getting into his vehicle. He did not give any further details.

Argentinian media is ridiculously pro-israel and, therefore, pro-genocide. When Hamas launched their attack on Oct. 7th, they didn't stop talking about the plight of israel and how hard life is thanks to "these butchers and terrorists". But as soon as the propaganda ran dry and as israel intensified it's bombing campaign (Especially when they bombed the hospital in Gaza), they shifted away from the war. Now, as israel begins it's most savage genocidal stage, the media is pretty much silent. Maybe one or two articles talking about "US officials urging israel to be moderate" but that's it, no pictures of dead Gazan children, no reports from the thousands of people inside Gaza crying for help, barely one mention of the settler's actions in the West Bank, no reports of massive protests worldwide, nothing. It's just "israel bombs Hamas" and that's it.

Disgusting people. But be certain of something: When our time comes... you know the rest. We wont have mercy on those who enable, deny or whitewash this ongoing genocide. There's a special bullet, a special wall and a special pit for them. Be certain of that.

Map GOAT Rybar reports a major Russian breakthrough on southwestern flank of Avdiivka, with the longest Ukrainian line of trenches allegedly falling.

This could be fatal for the defending Ukrainian forces, as Russian forces are now pretty much 1km away from the fortified Khimik suburb, and 1km away from the line of small villages that are vital for the Ukrainian supply line here. If Russians start storming these villages and the coke plant north of Avdiivka falls, then the city is effectively under siege.

Eleven bakeries destroyed, only nine remain: UN relief agency

Eleven bakeries in Gaza have been struck and destroyed since 7 October, according to an update from the UN relief agency UNOCHA.

Six of the destroyed bakeries were in Gaza City, two in Jabalia, two in the Middle Area and one in Khan Younis, UNOCHA added.

With only nine bakeries left operating in Gaza as of Wednesday, people are being “exposed to air strikes” while standing in “hours-long queues”, UNOCHA said.

The bakeries are receiving flour from UNOCHA, but are struggling to continue operating due to fuel shortages, the relief agency added.

Israel will deduct funds earmarked for Gaza from Palestinian Authority tax transfers

The Israeli government’s security cabinet made the decision “to deduct all funds designated for the Gaza Strip” from the tax revenues it collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority.

“Israel is severing all contact with Gaza,” the government said in a statement.

The transfers have come under renewed scrutiny after far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich this week announced he would not release the funds, accusing the PA of supporting the Hamas attack on October 7.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said yesterday that the transfers should continue, however, in an effort to help “stabilise” the situation in the occupied West Bank, where attacks by Israeli forces and settlers have increased amid the Gaza war.

France having a very normal one

A new bill in the French senate to outlaw anti-Zionism is absolutely unreal senat.fr/leg/ppl23-021.html

Basically the proposal is that insulting Israel in France would be punishable "by two years of imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros" and "inciting hatred or violence" against Israel would land you 5 years in prison and give rise to a fine of 100,000 euros.

Here is how the bill reads:

"Bill Proposal to Complete the Penal Framework Sanctioning Anti-Zionism

Article 25 of the law of July 29, 1881, on the freedom of the press is restated as follows: 'Art. 25. - Those who, by one of the means stated in Article 23, have denied the right of the State of Israel to exist will be punished by one year of imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros.

'An insult committed against the State of Israel, by one of the means stated in the same Article 23, is punishable by two years of imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros.

'Those who, by the same means, have directly incited hatred or violence against the State of Israel will be punished by five years of imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 euros.'"
