Yeah it behaves weirdly on Jerboa, too. Hopefully that gets adressed at some point. Doing a simple c/ or a ! would be pretty cool.

Yeah hopefully. What did you have to do to insert the link? Just add a normal link and copy the URL to the community?
Add ! And @instance to the start and end respectively and it should link automatically
